Condo People Want Me to Pay a Non Sufficient Funds Surcharge

I wonder how many checks the HOA receives every month. Mine gets over 700, and I'm sure all they look at are the $$s and account numbers. Who has time to baby-sit 700 people? Not my job.
 

Perfect segway into what happened here today. I heard some loud talking outside my door and opened it to see. The guy who lives above me was in a tizzy as he had overdrawn his checking account by a couple hundred dollars and then the bank closed his account. His Social Secerity check came 1 day later and the bank sent it back. Now he has no bank account, no money and a hungry cat. I know this guy for years and he has helped me lift things and so on over that time.

So I brought him into my place, calmed him down and he was able to make a plan re opening a new account at another bank this Monday. He had zero money so I gave him a check for $100 for cat food and people food and whatever else he needs. I told him he does not need to 'pay me back'.

He has no family.

He will be ok in about 10 days when he gets his Social Security. For now he has money for immediate needs. I understand about businesses not holding client's hands, but I will never understand how the employees sleep at night.

Please don't lecture me about being scammed, or anything like that. I know who he is and I know who I am and we'll it at that.

As for Friday the 13th, I got my deliervies on time, had another visit with a friend, and had a great meditation!
