Yesterday, I went to look at something in a furniture site,
called Wayfair, using my phone, instead of cookies, it kept
hiding the page, any page with a form, "Get our App", it said,
every time I X'd it, it just came back again, needless to say I
just went somewhere else to look.

Is this the future, I wonder?

Mike.

I actually hate wayfair. Not for the reasons you state.. but half their stock is always ''out of stock'' yet they don't take it off their web pages.... and further to that one of their delivery drivers smashed into my parked car..I saw him do it, and called them immediately, and they refused to consider he'd done it...

We are being profiled from all angles. It's why supermarkets offer their own discount card, they can profile buyers who pay in cash. Profiles are big business, they are bought and sold so that the individual's profile is huge. This website will explain more and help you avoid the worse.

Yea, I am going to websites and they have popups that I have to close advertising their "app". I have gotten a couple I use a lot. A couple places lately have kept doing the pop up more. I go somewhere else because it is too aggressive.

Thank you for the link Sir, you are correct, about the supermarkets,
I have their cards, since the beginning when one was given to me
by the cashier, when paying, late last year LIDL came out with a
virtual one, so I went through the application form, big, big mistake,
within seconds, my email was filling up with their offers, then my
phone started to ping with messages, after a couple of hours, I
removed it all from my computer, it wasn't on the phone, I think
that they give a little off some obscure items, plus you can have
a free doughnut at every visit.

I don't qualify because I am not in the club, I don't care either.
