Cooking brisket

I have a pound of brisket, cut in three slices. In a cast Iron skillet , how long should I cook it. [stove top] My damn oven quit again , and it's Christmas weekend.....My normal oven recipe is just , olive oil, beer, [sometimes broth] seasonings, onions & peppers...all in the skillet.

Any help appreciated......
 

That cooking method won't give you the 'crust'. Only an oven or a barbecue will do that if that's what you are after.

Same as a turkey if you want the skin crisp.

Except for those deep fryers.
