An off duty accomplished New Jersey police officer killed in an off duty crash earlier this year was found to have a mixture of drugS and alcohol in his system. The list includes an antidepressant, bath salts, stimulant/s, an antihistamine and twice the legal limit of alcohol in his blood. They also list 4 substances or illegal stimulants in his system probably from a designer cocktail.

He made it to police captain and was a fireman at a local firehouse.

At first I was thinking somebody might have slipped him something but then I'm reading some of the substances and I think several of them, the stimulants are used by dieters to speed up their system and burn more fat. The antihistamine and alcohol are legal. And even if the anti depressant was prescribed it should be common sense don't mix with alcohol. Perhaps he used the stimulants to offset the anti-depressant and counter the alcohol.

It's sad, he seemed like a real achiever and go getter.

something afoot with first responders and bath salts?

Found this while searching original post story.

Similar crash by an off duty fire fighter in New York. The driver, a fire fighter killed a women in a fatal crash. He had a .21 blood alcohol level, cocaine, bath salts and sedatives in his system. Is this a fad among extreme party going first responders in the northeast? These guys screwed up and/or got caught. How many didn't or got a professional courtesy favor.

Not a knock on first responders but rather adults who have not matured or don't take their JOB seriously because they wouldn't be doing what they are arresting or rescuing people for.
