Cops misbehaving in the US

CAF is a way to fund local departments and the incentive of "free money and property" is another reason to trample our rights as citizens, like they actually needed more incentive to trample our constitutionally protected freedoms, which they already do with impunity.

Case in point:

2nd case were Sgt. schools the ignorant cop. Go to 20:00 to see the lesson.

This guy is just wanting to make issues so he can film and get on UTube he is a jerk. He was asked to leave the day before and the building manager and security officer asked the police to get him to leave. Then he wants to just argue and needs to go get a real life. I would not want to be filmed while applying for food stamps or even getting my driver's license or in the SS office. The security officer was doing his job. Personal recording devices should not be allowed in tax payer places, where people are doing personal business. The guy is a jerk.

KFOX14 - "The Las Cruces City Council has approved the issuance of up to $21 million in bonds to fund a lawsuit settlement-- the largest in the city's history-- after a deadly police shooting.

The settlement resolves a civil lawsuit filed by the estate of Teresa Gomez,45, who back on Oct. 3, 2023, was shot and killed by then-Las Cruces police officer Felipe Hernandez.

Following the incident, the Las Cruces Police Department determined there was probable cause to charge Hernandez with second-degree murder.

A criminal complaint was filed against him on January 9, 2024, and Hernandez was charged with second-degree murder and was fired in May of 2024.

Hernandez's criminal trial is set to begin on June 2, 2025."

They don't need any new schools or roads in LC do they?

My son has been a police officer 8 years now. He wanted to be a police man from the age of about 4. Once he got into it, the disillusionment stage set in. He was surprised by the lying people, lying to his face when all he is doing is trying to help people, and get the the bottom of a problem, sort it all out and let everyone go about their day.

He hasn't had to pull a gun and use it in the entire time he has been an officer, except he had to shoot a pit bull that was attacking him. He said he felt "horrible" he had to shoot a dog.

The majority of police officers are just there to try to help people, to keep order, and peace, protect others and property from crime. They want to go home alive and safe; make a living just like the rest of us.

There are bad people in every profession of course, but how many will lay their life on the line to protect when need be?

When you rag on police, you rag on them ALL, it causes even the good ones to be disheartened and want to stop policing because they don't get a sense of being appreciated.

Hate does nothing for anyone.
I'm a big dog lover but your son had no choice at all and some use dogs as weapons .

Though simplistic way of looking at life I highly recommend a fish tank for your son as relives stress and countless types '' nano tanks '' sold online / Amazon that come with lights / filters .

I set one up for an EMS guy in area with male guppies which do not need a heater and lots fish out there that do well in room temps .

With the advent of body worn cameras and proliferation of cell phone videos I believe the notion that cops are always being truthful has been completely dispelled. Using the reasoning that they had "no choice" is another complete farce and is used to insulate themselves from discipline.

Your hate for the police is terribly sad. Will pray that one day you will need them and they will put their life on the line for you, no matter your hate. 90% of police are really dedicated good people, as are firefighters, doctors, nurses...all those helping professionals.

Sadly, you are on the other side of the fence being totally unhelpful. You are on a personal mission of some sort of vendetta.
Do you also hate the military personnel that keep our country free?

I was a state trooper in Pennsylvania for 37 years. Well beyond retirement, but too young to retire. I enjoyed what I did. I never kept count on how many times I drew my weapon.

I went with a Constable to arrest 2 brothers that were out on bail for various drug charges, but failed to show for court. The Constable got word from a family member where the brothers were hiding. They were hiding out at a friend’s hunting camp or cabin in upstate PA. Once we arrived at the scene and we surveyed the surroundings, we decided that we needed at least 2 more Troopers to cover all the exits and also to surround their vehicles.

Once we were all in place, we used the horn to announce our presence and ordered them to come out with their hands in the air. They showed resistance (no shots were fired) and said they weren’t coming out, so we shot 2 teargas bombs through the windows. Less than 3 minutes later, they surrendered. That’s when you know you did a good job. No one was injured and everyone got to go home safe that night and our suspects were safely in jail.

Mississippi Goon squad

NYT - "In a series of interviews from prison, a former Mississippi sheriff’s deputy described for the first time how he and others in his department regularly entered homes without warrants, beat people to get information and illegally seized evidence that helped convict people of drug crimes.

His statements corroborate many aspects of an investigation by The New York Times and Mississippi Today that uncovered a two-decade reign of terror by Rankin County sheriff’s deputies, including those who called themselves the “Goon Squad.” They also shed new light on the deputies’ tactics and the scope of their violent and illegal behavior.

The former deputy, Christian Dedmon, who once led the department’s narcotics division, told Mississippi Today in emails and phone calls that drug raids occurred in suburban Rankin County, outside Jackson, almost every week for years.

He said deputies regularly brutalized and humiliated suspects to get them to share information during the raids. And he said they often seized evidence without a legally required warrant, raising questions about possible wrongful convictions in hundreds of narcotics cases stemming from the raids."

Not only do bad cops murder innocent people, they also cost taxpayers a lot of money. And they don't seem to be able to learn. All the training in the world won't help cops who can't learn.

A former Colorado sheriff’s deputy was convicted Thursday in the shooting death of a 22-year-old man in distress who called 911 for help after his car got stuck in a small mountain community.
Jurors found Andrew Buen guilty of criminally negligent homicide in the June 2022 death of Christian Glass, whose death drew national attention and led to changes in how officers are trained to respond to people in mental health crises under a $19m settlement with his family.

NYT - "New York City paid out $206 million last year[2024] to settle cases involving police and prosecutorial misconduct, including decades-old wrongful convictions.

The amount was the most since at least 2018, and it accounts for 27 percent of the $756 million the city has paid in such lawsuits over the past seven years, according to data released on Tuesday by the Legal Aid Society."

Charges filed against 2 officers including the meathead breaking the skateboard as captured below.

"The officer forgot to shout "STOP RESISTING" at the skateboard to justify his excessive force."

Riverside Police Department

Riverside, CA

A MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF

“Last month, a video surfaced showing one of my officers damaging a skateboard in what appeared to be a deliberate act. I understand the concerns this has raised and appreciate our community’s patience as we have been conducting both a criminal and internal investigation.

The Riverside County District Attorney decided to file charges against two of the officers related to the misdemeanor vandalism. One officer has six years of service, and the other has five.

Let me be clear: This behavior is unacceptable and does not reflect the standards of the Riverside Police Department. I expect every officer to uphold the integrity and professionalism that our community deserves. Our internal investigation remains ongoing, and once complete, I will take an appropriate course of action.

Accountability is essential, and I will continue to ensure my officers meet the standards expected by our community.”

- Chief Larry Gonzalez

Stumbled upon this gem from the Riverside CA Sheriffs Office correctional deputy.

104 pounds of fentanyl!!

FYI

One pound of fentanyl contains about 226,700 potential lethal doses. Or 23,576,800 total potential fatal doses.

"A Riverside County sheriff’s correctional deputy arrested on an Inland freeway in the middle of the night had more than 100 pounds of fentanyl pills in his car and was working for a drug trafficking organization, the Sheriff’s Department said Friday, Sept. 22.

Investigators identified Jorge Alberto Oceguera-Rocha, a 25-year-old Banning resident, as having “a pivotal role of trafficking large quantities of narcotics within Riverside County while off duty,” according to a news release.

Capt. Rob Roggeveen of the Special Investigations Bureau said in an interview that investigators had been watching Oceguera-Rocha for “some time. It wasn’t just an overnight investigation.”

Oceguera-Rocha was pulled over by a sheriff’s deputy at 3:30 a.m. on the 10 Freeway in Calimesa on Sept. 17. He was booked on suspicion of possession of illegal narcotics for sales, transportation of illegal drugs for sales and possession of illegal drugs and a firearm.

“The 104 pounds of fentanyl was located in his vehicle, so he was obviously trusted with a very large quantity of narcotics to be moved from point A to point B. This is different than your ‘mule’ that the organizations use to move narcotics across the southern border,” Roggeveen said. “We are doing everything in our investigative capabilities to ensure we dismantle the drug trafficking organization Oceguera is affiliated with.”"

Another member of the most formidable gang in the US.

Nashville TN - mother knows best. Why do officers mute body cams? Why no breathalyzer? Why no presumption of innocence? A hunch is not REASONABLE ARTICULABLE SUSPICION.

The kid may "beat the rap, but he'll never get over the ride."

Cops lie and conspire against a law abiding citizen over a monkey!

"Lying, conspiracy to falsely charge, infringement of a person's 4th Amendment rights, and abuse of power all under color of law."
