Could you make it as a caveman?

No freakin way. Those guys chased and killed buffaloes and woolly mammoths and stuff. I mean, if I was born back then, then yeah, I'd have to do it or die. But I'd definitely be painting pictures on rocks. That's totally me.

If the cave had ramps, handrails, and didn't require crawling on my hands and knees on rock, sure, I'd be fine.
They cared for their elderly. You'd be sitting around taking care of the cavekids while the men went hunting and the women cooked and made clothes and stuff.

I think you'd be ok. You could even keep your name, cuz they knew honey and nuts. Probably had different words for them, though. Maybe you'd be Yummy Yum or Goo Nok or whatever, but it'd mean the same thing.

From what I understand, the cave "ladies" would mate with 3 or 4 cave men. That way none of them would know who the father is and they'd all be invested in caring for the child. Not a bad system! :ROFLMAO:
Not sure if the top caveman would altogether go a bundle on his underlings getting a go, "but if you say so I suppose it must be right", (is it a fantasy of yours too? :) )!!

My wife says I already am. I turned to protest, but bumped into a 4 foot high pile of dirty laundry that is, now, I think...a living creature.

Then I quietly gave up and left the room.

Probably if I were born to it. But I wasn't, so probably not for very long.

On the other hand, cavemen thrown into modern times would probably meet their demise more swiftly than we would in theirs. Dodging traffic would kill most within a day.
There was a 1959 episode of "The Twilight Zone" that had that story. A cowboy/murderer from 1800 was executed, then thrust into a modern world - "What are those big things moving without horses?" LOL:

I doubt many modern urban humans would last very long if some global disaster like a nuclear war, large meteor strike, or ...climate change panic starvation disaster. Especially during winters. Forget about caves, they are geologically rare. For a long time one would best stay far away from other people, especially urban areas...too many desperates with guns. Would be a survival of the fittest, strongest, with most guns, most ruthless cannibals until food in markets was gone and then they would be no more. Only those few remote rural country folk that could band together, had seeds, and grew food would have a chance in most inland regions. A decade later, instead of caves one could move back to urban zones and have a pick of decaying modern infrastructure buildings living like a king.

It just takes too much skill few today have experience with including this very outdoors person. As I noted above, I could only survive if I had time before whatever to collect enough modern day toys filling my vehicle and then escape to an uncommon zone I might have a fighting chance at. Especially warm sleeping bags, 4 season tents, and a very large bag of rice and container of vitamins. All my adult life have done so outdoors and there is a whole lot that can go wrong novices have little chance at. I doubt I could even make a fire without materials though have seen how such is done. In wet rainy or snowy weather death from exposure would get most with starvation the rest.

So there was lots and lots of hugging going on 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I don't think so because they only bathe 🚿 once a month.

I wonder how romantic get togethers worked with everybody smelling like buffaloes? Wait a second, I bet they didn't have toothpaste either! :ROFLMAO:

Probably be considered more like a criminal attack. I doubt they were warm and cuddly with each other!
I'm sure "cavepeople" were capable of feeling love, affection, attraction. A dog is. Cats and "smart" birds are. Apes can feel affection as well as fear, anger, and animosity. They can even hold a grudge. Cavemen had more complex brains than birds and dogs and apes.

After doing some research, I must say I stand corrected! I had the old preconception about cavemen dragging the ladies around by their hair and having their way with them. Some studies (involving primates) have indicated that relations were mostly consensual and they valued each other. Of course it's impossible to know exactly the cavemen "family" dynamics, but the club wielding caveman version has become obsolete. But somehow I still doubt the "warm and cuddly" version!

Thanks for inspiring me to get educated on the subject!
