Thousands of Victorians cut short their NSW holidays and joined a mad rush to get home ahead of the coronavirus border shutdown

After being told they had to quarantine for two weeks, two young people disappeared in a van from Melbourne Airport on Friday and have been on the run ever since. Today, they handed themselves into police in Goulburn, NSW and were told they face fines of $19,000 each. Victorian Health Minister Martin Foley says the pair did not have the appropriate documents to enter the state.

They knew the rules. The penalties should be tough.

I feel like I'm living in a penal colony. Or worse.
Because Australia & New Zealand have been tough, they’ve minimized the spread. They’re living almost normal lives. Too bad many more places haven’t been as adamant.

Excuse me, but Australia is receiving monthly Covid support checks. So is Canada. They are being PAID to comply. My country is getting NOTHING and people are trying to social distance in food lines in the winter. I'm sick of being lamb basted for my opinions on this subject. Personally, I'm going broke and have headaches everyday now all related to covid restrictions and the stress resulting from them.

When I said I feel like I'm living in a penal colony I mean it. I'm entitled to my feelings.

You are entitled to your feelings but how are you going broke? We are all paying the price for this horrible virus and will do so for a very long time if not forever. I am stuck at home but I try to make the best of it by phoning friends and family, etc.
