Couples who have the same Primary Doctor

A couple of years ago, the wife's doctor retired so she set out to find a new one.
She decided on one accepting new patients and she was very pleased with him.

I met him a couple of times when he explained some treatments and an operation the wife was about to have.
Was impressed enough to ask if I could also be added as a patient.
He had no problem with that and said since I usually sit in the waiting room while she goes in, we could be
scheduled together if we preferred.

So far this has worked out nicely. Kind of a win for both Doctor and Us.
If one of us forgets to asks a question, the other one usually will ask it.
He can see us both, ask questions about both our health and frees up time for other patients.
We are also free to see him separately if needed.

Guess we go in as a team looking out for each other.

Any other couples seeing the same Doctor?

My husband and I have always had the same primary care physician. We don't always schedule our appointments together. Our doctor takes all the time we need, yet manages to see his patients in a timely manner.

My husband is great at choosing doctors. I have always been very pleased with them. We had the previous guy for 20 years, and at the end, he didn't please me because he discounted my health problem for several years, saying it was the stress from having 4 little kids. It turned out to be that my left main artery (the widow maker) was 90% blocked by the time I had emergency double bypass surgery. I was 45 years old. The situation was so bad that numerous cardiologists, all of whom came into my hospital room to talk too me, said they could not figure out why I had not dropped dead suddenly at least 6 months prior. There was no history of heart disease in my family at the time, and I did not have any of the markers for it (lifestyle). Having heart disease had never occurred to me. The symptoms were pretty obvious (pain in chest, left arm, having little energy, and suddenly blacking out for no reason).

This was pretty common for women who had heart problems back then -- everything blamed on their stressful lives, so it was a mental problem, not a physical one. Then one day, I went to see the doc about this, and he scheduled a treadmill test. I stayed on the treadmill for about 10 seconds, and then they called an ambulance to take me two blocks to the hospital.

So far, I've always been lucky in terms of health problems, so the outcome was good.

My husband and I had the same Primary care Doctor for many years. H was wonderful and last year he retired. So then we got a new Doctor and to be honest I don't care for her at all. She won't see us both together or on the same day. He has an appt. today and mine is in 2 weeks. The only time she treated me nice was when my daughter who is an RN came with me. She liked my daughter and was very pleasant to her. So I've decided to look for a new Primary Doctor. If my husband wants to continue seeing her it's fine with me,but I will not see her again.

We've used the same PCP for years. Luckily, most of our visits are just the annual checkups, and an occasional minor issue. The office is just a short drive away, so it's fairly convenient for our needs.
