I just heard Creedence Clearwater Revival singing 'Down on the Corner' on the radio and it brought back memories from many moons ago......they were only together for a short period (1967-1972) but I believe just about every song they recorded made the top 10.

Songs like;

Born on the Bayou
Proud Mary
Who'll Stop the Rain
Bad Moon Rising
Looking Out My Back Door
Down on the Corner
Green River
Have You Ever Seen the Rain
Up Around the Bend

I'm mainly a country music fan but I do likes me some CCR. :)

Me too Ike!!

I have a couple of CCR albums loaded on my Walkman. Perfect walking music.

Maybe 15 years ago or so, we went to one of the Mardi Gras nights at Universal Studios here in Orlando. The featured performer that night was "Creedence Clearwater Revisited", the band without Fogerty. They were technically perfect but it definitely lacked something....namely Fogerty's "grittiness".

I consider "Run Through the Jungle", "Who'll Stop the Rain" and "Fortunate Son" THE quintessential Viet Nam era songs.

It's kinda funny.......I've spent close to two hours listening to CCR on YouTube and for the most part I can remember every single word of every song from way back in the 60's and 70's but yet I'd be hard pressed to tell you what I had for supper Wed. evening.

To hell with it, I'd much rather listen to CCR than than try to remember what I had for supper Wed. anyway. :)

Same here - with both song lyrics and old Bugs Bunny cartoons. I taught my son to do the same.

I didn't realize CCR was together for such a short amount of time.

One of my favorites too ! I've been watching the Ken Burns documentary on Vietnam and was expecting a lot of CCR music being played but so far there has been none. I think it's a wise choice since most movies about that war has had one CCR song in it.
