I have had constant headaches since when I was only 15 yrs old which was a LOOOONg time ago. I had my spine tapped and since then I have been getting headaches. I take Tylenol every day.but nothing helps. Does anyone know what can be done?

Oh my goodness, Sassy, I'm so sorry to hear this! It must be dreadful.
I don't have anything to suggest except that I saw something online that was
for migraines... topical I think, and not a pill but no idea if it's effective. Let
me go snoop around and see if I can find it again. 🌹

Certain medications like blood pressure meds can cause headaches but I doubt you were taking them when you were 15. Scrutinize what you consume. Anything with caffeine comes to mind.

Does Excedrin migraine help? It's a combination of Tylenol, aspirin, and caffeine.

It has always gotten rid of severe headaches in my family.

(I took one a few years ago and the next thing you know, my son moved out! Headache gone! LOL)

I'm sorry you're having to suffer like this. Back when I started having headaches the doctors didn't really have anything to give us but aspirin which I am allergic to. After years of suffering I found a Neurologist who tried me on Neurontin which was to have been a preventative . It didn't prevent or actually stop the headache but it took the edge off so I could tolerate the migraine. I watched everything I ate such as chocolate, citrus fruit, & was careful not to be exposed to certain cleaning products. It seemed everything was a trigger. I know they do have a lot more drugs for migraines now but I still keep Neurontin. Since I'm older they don't happen as often & when they do I take my med & sit down. I hope you find relief soon.

My friend in Australia has had extreme migraines throughout her life. Recently, botox was tried, and it helped
considerably. However, it is quite costly, if not covered by medical plan.

Sorry you have suffered so long. I used to have those that lasted months at a time. I don't know if what I tried cured them or they went away on their own.
I bought a large pink salt lamp. I was having one at the time and in 3 days it was gone and I haven't had one since. It has been many years. I have 3 in the house now. Sounds weird, placebo or not, it worked. Don't know if that had anything to do with it, just wanted to tell you about my experience.

Quit eating anything with nitrates....like hotdogs and other processed meats.
Worked for me

Headaches are the worst possible pain as far as i am concerned. I seem to have cured my chronic headaches by taking a claritin every night. Low and behold my headaches seem to have been mostly allergic reaction to something. And i also had them for years and years sometimes for days on end. Nothing worked…until claritin.

Oh dear, Sassycakes, that is very sad to be suffering like that,
I have heard several times that using the same medicine all
the time, stops it from working, because your body becomes
immune to the effect, you need to switch to another, every
2 weeks or so, is recommended, by some Doctors, my own
included.

It might also be a side effect of the tablets.

I hope that you find a solution soon.

Mike.

I don't have the answer for Sassycakes. I can only relate my personal experience.

Back in the day I suffered debilitating migraines. They were common enough to be a problem, but I managed. When they hit I was out of it. I saw many doctors and had various medications, but they all worked to treat the symptom (headache) then the cause.

The cause? (very) long story short - stress. I made a complete change in my life: Location, partner, habits. The migraines went away. And I mean 100%. The stress of various things was eating me from the inside out.

You have my sympathy, I do hope that you get them investigated. In my twenties I mentioned to a doctor, whilst having a medical check up for the mortgage insurance, that I got very painful headaches, so bad that they made me vomit. "Sounds like migraine," my doctor suggested. He was right, what's more, following the resulting medical investigation, I discovered that some migraines, mine included, can be a result of certain types of food intolerance, cheese and chocolate being quite common. Mercifully, since that doctor's diagnosis, I can't remember having the kind of headaches I had in my youth.
