Curiosity Killed the Cat, But Not Levon

No, no, no cats got killed at all. Actually I was taking an old chair to the donation box maybe six blocks away. The storm clouds were rolling in and I didn't want a sopping chair in the yard. Too big to fit in the trunk but tipped out and lashed with bungee cord I could do it easily.

So here I am driving cautiously down the road. Maybe four blocks from home...

Oh no is Levon on the roof? It's happened before, people stopping our car and pointing at the roof...idiot cat.

He is not on the roof and I have stopped in the middle of the street. No traffic but jeez

I run to the back of the car and there half in the trunk is Levon looking out at me.001.jpg

LOL! I went to visit my friend in Indiana years ago. Got home to my house in Texas and one of her cats was in the flat bed of my truck and had hitched the entire way. Some cats like adventure :D Too funny fur!

Little bastard, I was on the phone the other day. Job call-backs and important. I'm hard of hearing so phone speech is a challenge anyway. Here he is on the table beside me MRRROOOOWWW. He wants out and I heard nothing on the phone. Glad his voice is so loud or I wouldn't have heard him in the trunk.

He is a smart and sensible kitty to stay put and call you instead of panicking and trying to jump out.

When the barn where I used to ride held shows and clinics the people who trailered in had to be careful not to leave their trailer doors open while parked. At least one person came for the day, drove 100 miles home, opened her trailer door -- and found a barn cat looking sleepy and wanting to know where in the world he was!
She brought him back home when she came for the next clinic.

Awww, cute story, that was nice she brought him back:):):)
I guess some cats are just more adventurous than others. He's snuck in the car other times too. I'll be almost to my destination and he'll come hopping up from the backseat. He's small and quick so any door open for a second and he has a new place to nap.

Between dogs and cats and human kids seeking my attention all day...I can tell you I gave him a special hug as I grabbed him and brought him in the car. Something weird...our Kashi who was hit by a car, one of his things was washing the humans every night. Levon too. You just know he just got Kashi's spirit.

Something else cute is our cats have a fan club. All but two of them go outside during the day. I'll see the Mom's stop with toddlers in tow to pet the kitties. Adults who walk by regularly too. Besides hearing people make a fuss over them you can smell it in their fur. They'll come in at night...something sweet like cherry at their neckline, a men's cologne in their back fur. We always joke that the boys like to smell good for the ladies.
