Curious about new member

who joined 2 months ago; has never logged off & is constantly checking Forum List. This "person" has never posted a thing and is always here. Is this a bot, or a real person? I noticed on another forum, this same thing was happening with one of their new members. When scrutinized, the person appeared to log off; in other words, responded to the attention.

What's up? Just curious.

Yes, I'm too lazy to log off too, but when we leave the site, our names are not present in Members Online section. This person is always on Members Online.

As I said, it happened on the other forum just now. Won't say name of forum but thread titled 'who is Susan?'

Only curious about one Pepper? .... I can think of a few myself
 
One here is all I ever noticed @Bonnie, coincidentally happening same time period as other forum. This person also not a lurker, only goes to notification section & our one only goes to Forum List. Is not lurking threads to my knowledge. I'm sure Matrix is aware. As I keep saying, I don't have a problem, I'm just curious as I am a bored old woman with nothing better to do. o_O

I have no idea.. I haven't looked at the list to check it out... and I didn't remember it being mentioned that it was a male.. I thought you said 'Susan'

I'm pretty dumb about all this member stuff. I never log out, never look to see who is online, and don't know why bots are hanging around this forum.

Since I never log out, it probably looks like I am here all the time. Just out of curiosity, why should anyone know or care who is online at any given time? That seems totally unimportant to me.
 
Even when you don't log out, if you close the window you are no longer listed as a member online, which is located on the Home Page on the right side around half way down after Word of the Day. At least that is my home page.

So, this "member" under discussion not only does not log out, but never seems to leave, period.
 
Susan not only has the right to read the threads and not join the forum, but I welcome her to do that.
Maybe she enjoys it, much like reading a book. One doesn't participate in that either.
If she reads anything of mine then I'm flattered to be holding her interest. At least SOMEone finds me interesting ☺️

She might be too shy to participate, or scared someone might react negatively toward her...as all too often happens here...right Pepper?
Let's just treat her with kindness and go about our business.
PS...I'm always forgetting to log out, yet not around.

I'm curious not because this might be a shy individual, or whatever reason, who just wants to read. But this particular person only reads the Forum List and does not read Threads. Of course, you are right, everyone is welcome, it's not up to me.

This individual lists as 'male'

Susan is the one from that other forum, I don't know if there is any connection, just time coincidence for doing the same thing on a different Senior forum
