Dang, I Missed a Whole Decade

As I usually do in the supermarket, read a few magazines while hubby gets the basics. Keeps him independent and I get to read more. It was a special on music of the " 90's". I know one whole song by Nirvana. I wore a Marilyn Manson shirt to be ironic. I was listening to Hootie and the Blowfish. Oh and there was a take-off on an Ace of Base song too course for my son to let me hear. Raising kids and dead end jobs, crap I did not know one song on the best of list. Um, does Boyz2Men count???

I feel ya son, I was doing too much to notice. I remember a bunch of Moms at the Y coming in and saying Kurt Cobain was dead. I mean what a difference ten or fifteen years makes. They were crushed...I had to think, yeah he was that teen spirit guy right?

Loved that music, 90's was some of my favorite workout rock and euro import music, watched all those people on the multitude of screens in up in front and side of my treadmill, made me walk on that thing for more than 6 miles at a time no breaks. :D Those were the days.

Cobain ... *snort* ... people crying over the death of a junkie ... yeah, right ... Gen X could have chosen a much better spokesperson.

I got to be there for the 80s and 90s but I missed the most of the 70s, didn't know much of what was going on in popular culture except kept hearing 'Your So Vain' coming through the walls from the neighbors while I was trying to get my baby to sleep.

I do remember the skinny jeans, Sketchers and leg warmer look and I rocked that pretty good, I was raising three young kids...so yeah it was a musical blur.
