Hello everyone I'm male 54 years old from Lethbridge, Alberta.

I hope you don't think I am too young for this forum although I am 54 I have aged not so gracefully since I have been on disability pension for about 13 years now. I feel like I am 100 both physically and mentally. My medications have not been kind to me.

I do very little except read on the Internet 8-16 hours per day. I thought it was time I try chatting on a forum again.

My wife Nancy is 61 and having great difficulty in staying working. Hopefully we can figure something out financially so she can retire very soon.

Looking forward to participating and getting to know everyone.

Have a great day all!

Hello D`arcy I`ll do the same as Warrigal.. sure does sound posh hehe! my ancestors names from Ireland were D`arcy ,, I am sure you will fit in here and find so much to satisfy there is so many topics and fun activities, also nice folks on here so helpful and loving.. my grandson is living in Banff at the moment on a 2 yr working holiday and the pictures he sends home are spectactular , you sure live in a lovely scenic country .. so enjoy and I look forward to reading your posts etc.. :)

Hi hollydolly I've to Europe a few times but never England, I wish I had gone when I was still able to travel. After all I am 1/4 English, as my mom told me many times, I am English, Irish, Scottish, and Welsh.

I thought being over 50 would not be too bad, but I forgot about all the damage I had done from living an extremely active lifestyle, even my hair hurts!

Well Darcy I'm a Scot living in England ..from Scottish and Irish Parentage so I have it all sewn up LOL. I think most Scots have relatives living in Canada somewhere, mine are mostly in Toronto

I'm sorry you're in such pain...I also live a very active lfiestyle...well up to now, and I'm waiting for surgery on my back and hopefully I'll be back to normal after that ...but you sound as tho' you're suffering waaay too much, so hopefully the good company here will go a long way to taking your mind off the pain

Hello Rainee, thanks for the welcome. I am glad to be here. I lived in Banff when I was 19-21 years old, I loved having my home, work, and skiing all in one place I loved it there in the mountains.
Now I live in Lethbridge which is semi-arid and featureless and not many trees, I miss the forest. But Lethbridge is the source of the worlds best gem-quality ammolite, it really is beautiful.

Hollydolly, I wish you all the best for back surgery. Your back must hurt a lot if they have to operate to fix it. In Alberta they won't do back surgery unless your practically immobile.

Same here Darcy...it's a long process, we have to jump through hoops and be referred to lots of doctors and consultants before they'll agree ... so yes I am in a lot of pain, but some days are worse than others, and work has been very understanding about it and apart from a couple of days between now and my back surgery in the 3rd week of march I don't need to go into work which is fab, but that said I do have to try and keep mobile or it gets worse, so I have to limit my time sitting around the house while I'm not at work

:welcome: Darcy, Keep your spirits up, it will help lessen your pain. The folks around here will help you, they're an interesting group. By fighting depression, I've gotten myself out of my wheelchair, and with care I'm mobil again.
:hatoff:
