Dealing With Crap

And as the man once said..."Life sucks and then you die." ;)

I have set up everything on auto pay. I have to pay one bill online during the month. My credit card to which I bill everything for cash rewards. I have one place, online, where I can reconcile all my charges and be done with it. It sures beats the old days, writing checks, keeping the register up to date. I still get paper statements so I can check the charges in case anything goes wrong. I can put a hold on the payment until the issue is resolved.

I’m tired of dealing with the crap required to survive in today’s society. There seems to be no logic, integrity or customer service left in today’s institutions. I no longer want to deal with maintaining a home, garage, lawn, car, and doctors. All I want to do is eat, sleep and watch TV. But life won’t let you do that even after you’ve worked 40 years.
One word;

LIQUIDATE

No more 'crap' to 'deal with'

Then go find a warm beach, a sand chair and umbrella
sip a nice drink
Let the sea air clear yer head

That's what I'd do
If this was the only life I had to look forward to.....

I love it so
Heh....checks.....and that pesky lag time
drove me nuts

I reported it to my insurance company first and my agent helped me file the claim with the at-fault company. My friends who've had recent accidents where the other driver was at fault tell me their company referred them to the at-fault company. I don't know how old your accident was but times change and companies change. And it depends upon whether you were at fault or the other driver.
The accident was 2 years ago and eventually it was determined the fault was 50/50. But when GEICO was handling the claim fault had yet to be determined. It’s literally your insurance company’s responsibility to handle the claims with the other company. I would be looking for another company once this is resolved. I am sorry this is happening to you because it should not be handled this way.

I’m not familiar with insurance practices and I can’t speak to your type of undetermined or 50/50 claim. My case was different with the police report immediately stating the other driver was 100% at fault. A friend with a recent accident like mine was referred to the at-fault agency by his agency. Another friend cited laws saying your own agency isn’t responsible when an at-fault agency is in place. But the laws vary from state to state. Some websites say if you file with your agency and let them handle it your rates can go up by 50% but if you file with the at-fault agency there is no ding on your own agency record. If you are happy with your agency then I would stick with it. The at-fault agency has just now finally paid for my car repair.

I’ve been paying my routine bills on-line for years but not on auto-pay. I go into my checking account on-line and select the electronic transfers each month. This was a trust issue with me due to a friend having a sizeable payment deducted twice in one month from his auto-pay arrangement and he spent a lot of time to get it straightened out. However, most people seem to have good luck with auto-pay with no problems.

Tabbyann, I find it weird as I have had many insurers throughout the years and lived in 5 states. Also the police won’t come to non injury accidents anymore here. I shop around both my car and condo insurance every 2 years and switch if I get cheaper rates. Maybe it is state law as you said but that’s awful anyway you look at it. Glad it’s been res

I have used my own bank’s autopay for years with no problems. I never set up autopay through a company website as I don’t trust them. Luckily I have savings so it would be an inconvenience but not a major problem.

When I had an accident I don’t deal with the other insurance company at all. You forward everything to your insurance company and they deal with it.
I was in accident where a teenager was at fault who had insurance. My insurance company turned out so useless that I had to hire an attorney to get bills paid. I understand everyone may have that option, but I won't go through this again without one. After everything was settled, I fired my insurance company of 38 yrs.

@TabbyAnn I hope you feel better after your whiskey & soda. A lot of people here can relate to being over whelmed with BS that shouldn't even have happened. Please feel free to vent when you need it. It helps to get it out.

So many things are online now. You're forced or pressured to switch to online, or the app, or whatever. And then the website or app doesn't work. Even for taxes, etc.

When I rented my apartment, I had to provide a screenshot of financial info. I'd never done a screenshot before, so I had to learn in a hurry. Then I was supposed to sign the lease online. I followed the instructions for the online signature (repeatedly), but it didn't work. Thank goodness I was able to meet with a human and do it in person.

There isn't much we can do about some of these changes. But perhaps we can simplify other areas of our lives, and reduce stress wherever we can.

I've watched this woman's videos and others in the evening. A kind voice and interaction, even if it's not with me, helps to relax me. Here she mentions about allowing clients to "complain." I don't think it's always a bad thing.

Assisted living isn’t the answer.

After breaking my leg last year, I spent a week in a nursing home that advertised maid service, meal service, laundry service, and personal assistance. The food was horrible, they lost my laundry, and personal assistance was slow, rude or non-existent. I don’t want a permanent diet of that. I talk with others whose relatives have even worse experiences in nursing homes.
Sorry you feel this way.
It must be rough.
I hope you’re feeling better

It can be overwhelming, but if you try to deal with one issue at a time it is doable. I had three large homes in my adult life until about 10 years ago. I then began an apartment life, and it was such a relief to let someone else deal with maintenance issues.
Perhaps you might ponder selling your home. Better days are coming, TabbyAnn. You've earned all the rest and relaxing days you need to be happy.
Excellent advice! I can see that day will come for me, sooner or later, but not too much later...

LOL - they're called "Rehabilitation Facilities."
Sounds better than calling them what they are - "Human Dumping Grounds"
But less accurate!

I spent a few days in one after my knee surgery, most of the people there were old and infirm, not much hope of getting out alive. Mine was clean, the food was ok, and the staff mostly friendly and tried to be helpful. Though I have to say the best and brightest don't seem to end up working in those places. A few exceptions, but not many. It was eye opening, I sure hope not to live long enough to end up in one...

I'm sorry to hear about your suffering with all this crap. However, I'm not surprised as we are all living in the "Dumb and Dumber" society that started at least 20 years ago. Anyone here for "Gender Neutral Toilets?"

All of the bathrooms in my house are gender neutral. Everyone is welcome... one at a time anyway, LOL
You cannot be a Canadian! A couple of years ago, the gender neutral were screaming on the media that they had a "problem" with the words " men" and "women" on bathroom doors and they wanted changes. Of course, the crazies in power said "Sorry" we will start building a 3rd toilet beside the other 2 for the "gender neutral" folks. Ya! Only in Canada, the country that tries to please everyone and everything in all sorts of ways.

If you think, I'm "full of hot air", read the following:

Well I’m Canadian and we have gender neutral bathrooms in our house too
I think the neutral washrooms were only put in major cities because we didn’t have public neutral washrooms here . There were men, women’s and family washrooms
