Decaying memories - as we age ourselves??

As I sat on the verandah today drinking coffee and devouring toast my mind started wandering. For some unknown reason I thought about some of my favourite actors - so I checked the net and found to my horror that I'd forgotten that Robert R and Barbara S had both died I sat there tearing up with a lump in my throat and thought most of 'my favourite ones' must have gone by now?? - salutary indeed

It's normal to forget some things that don't have a direct affect on us. Plus there is so much to keep track of. I was just thinking yesterday about a celebrity and couldn't remember if that person is still alive. I can't even remember who it was now...this brain of mine processes so much each day. Some of my favorites in music have gone and thinking of them sometimes makes me very sad.

Yes of course - just thought of those amazing actors barbra streisand and the actor male who was in sundance kid - wot was his name - Robert Redford and then read they were both dead of course??? - it knocked me for sixes sure did - all the good ones I grew up with have gone or going - barbara either once or always had a crush on him - hope they're meeting in heaven!!

In fact strangely enough I find that my memory for all my past years remain crystal clear from say a 2/3yr old - can't remember every minute of each day but significant events for sure!!

I've come to realize, we become hyper-sensitive to our memories as we get older. I've noticed a lot of young people have CRS (Cant Remember Stuff) --- but as seniors we worry more about it.

I've been trying to give myself a break for being forgetful at times. I suspect it will only increase as I age, so just play my games to keep my mind engaged and go with the flow.
