A juvenile/teen delinquent died in a car chase after receiving a heart transplant his mother had to fight for since he already had trouble with the law at the time he was first diagnosed as needing a new heart.

On one hand it seems like a big waste of a heart on the other the medical system should be unbiased when making a decision who gets an organ and who doesn't.

The boy's mother's life on the other hand deserves all the praise we can give her.

The big worry from the medical community was that the boy's delinquent behavior made it more likely that he could not stick to a post op regime or follow up treatment for a new heart. He had an ankle bracelet at the time he was applying for a new heart.

I agree with you Josiah that his mother deserves both praise and sympathy. Praise for doing what every mother is supposed to do, fight for her child and sympathy because he chose to throw it back in her face and disappoint her despite everything that she'd done for him. Some mothers don't even get sitters for their little kids when they go out drinking and partying but this lady gave it her all for her boy!
