I was waiting for a thread but I don't have anything to say in a thread except this...
For those of us who are interested in a quick answer without "a lot more questions" like I am...
I found that "Christian Agnostic" is defined as the belief that God or a higher power
might exist, that
Jesus may have a special relationship with God,
might in some way be divine, and that God
might perhaps be worshipped." Agnostics firmly believe that God does NOT exist. Christians believe firmly that God exists.
Dyson's example adds clarity...
Freeman Dyson describes himself as a practicing Christian but not a believing Christian. He simply means he tries to be a good person, doesn't believe in anything that can't be proven, doesn't rule anything out either, and unwilling to believe one way or another.
I respect that he was created to have the ability to make his own choice.
The term "Christian Agnostic" doesn't define a Christian...and doesn't define an Agnostic...
you can't be both and thus the confusion for everyone.
Dyson sounds like a good guy who's not willing to exercise faith, acknowledges that science doesn't have all the answers, and is willing to wait until after physical death to get his answers to the ever after. Not my choice but it's anyone's choice (okay by me).
