Detained at a landfill for no reason

I'm not sure how you think I am a hypocrite.

we are not discussing hypothetical what if situations - but my first approach in any situation is to give other party benifit of doubt and ask them politely - not to get in their face yelling obscenities or feel like smashing their face in.

I dont think anybody who overreacts like that would be fun to live with either.

The "avoid confrontation whenever possible Kate" may have considered leaving the landfill for half an hour to get a coffee and pastry somewhere... and by the time I returned, the bully would have most likely moved on. 🤷‍♀️ I don't like being pushed around more than anyone else does, but neither do I put myself into a position where that would most likely be the outcome.

The biggest problem with that scenario is the dump is off the beaten path and is about 10km from downtown. Plus you have to drive past the city's waste treatment ponds for about a mike that even with windows full up smells like your in an old wood outhouse on a hot summer day.

An option might have been to tell the gentleman that you were having a bad day, and you were very sorry for the outburst.

The area is a funnel. It's all dirt road strewn with garbage and who knows what lies in wait off the beaten path as far as off road hazards.
Ya my camera apperantly requires regular formatting because I found a setting that was turn off in a recent update that reminds you to format monthly or bi monthly. I just got the camera for thus car and we only drive it on the summer so I was surprised there was no video.
I don't know if you can imagine this, but our dump takes anything, except yard waster, which goes to a different part of the dump. If I have a pickup truck bed full of junk, I weigh in and then I pick one of the empty parking areas where I can unload my truck by taking out the pieces and throwing it down over the bank, which is about 30-40 feet deep. After I have unloaded, I leave and get weighed going out and pay for what I have thrown away.

There is a huge piece of moving equipment that continually picks up the junk and loads it into the back of a huge open trailer only on the top. After the trailer is full, it leaves and an empty trailer comes in and the process starts all over again.

Same thing for the yard waste, but that stuff ends up being incinerated.

Perhaps a better course of action would have been to turn around, go home, and contact someone at a higher position to report what happened so that it would not happen in the future. And if this doesn’t correct it, find a different place - lots of scrap dealers out there.

Life is too short to fight with this kind of thing.

I think the best course of action would of been to go up to him and politely ask him to move.

Not blast your horn at him followed by yelling obscenities in his face.

If you politely deal with a situation and it doesn't get resolved, then report that to someone higher up.

Well you were not there. The guy was using his size to try and intimidate. He already wasted a bunch of my time. He shoukd have been at work instead of having a coffee break gab session with the other employee. He shoukd have parked elsewhere and walked over as not to disrupt dump traffic. He coukd have stay there all day long I coukd care less bit instead he chose to not work and stop me and others from doing there business.

Sort of a stationary road rage incident. It takes two egos to road rage
It was not my ego bit rather I don't like to be scared and that guy came around his truck in a menacing intimidating way. I got scared and reacted. I won't back down from a bully. I spent my youth doing it and it left me scared.
