Did You Know That Amazon Has 341,000 Employees?

I thought that would make them one of the biggest Employers in the world but Wal Mart Stores Inc. has 2,200,000 employees.

Is that because Walmart also has all those brick and mortar stores, besides their online sales? That number would make sense.

I heard a great one last night. Amazon has this new thing. You can buy something from them and go pick it up at the local store. So it appears that Amazon has just invented "the store".

Smart decision for them, I also heard that they might store their products in real warehouses in different states to make same day delivery possible. If they do that, they will dominate the market.

You are right. Walmart seems to continue to lead the low cost department. I am sure they have the warehouse space.

Amazon has just built a huge facility in nearby Fall River, MA. I saw it for the first time last week. Tucked right up against the expressway, behind a screen of trees and shrubs, and with ready access to a set of highway ramps. They've had ads in the local papers recently looking for employees.

Since Amazon has now purchased the Whole Foods chain of grocery stores, this will give them a lot more warehouse space, as well as pick-up points for orders. It seems like their food service delivery has also taken off and is doing well; and the addition of Whole Foods should also give the Prime Pantry a boost in sales, and they will have a lot more areas where you can order groceries and have them delivered right away.
We order a lot of things from Amazon, and have had Prime for several years now, and for us, it is definitely worth the membership cost.
Amazon has so many benefits that come along with Amazon Prime, besides just the free 2-day shipping that it is hard to beat what they now offer.

I saw some information not to long ago which says the world, for the first time, has used more resources than the earth can produce.
The only thing this can do is make prices higher. I never thought I would see this occur in my life. If this phenomena continues it could destroy the food chain. Loss of any part of the food chain could be like a dominoe effect, destroying many other parts. I did write a post on this.
