Did you know????

You can tell the temperature by counting a cricket’s chirps.

If you’re not sure what the temperature is on hot summer day, just listen to the crickets. According to the Library of Congress, the musical creatures adjust their signature sounds according to the temperature, which means that if you count how many times a cricket chirps in 15 seconds and then add 37, you’ll get a number that is a pretty close approximation of the current temperature in degrees Fahrenheit.

When there’s a double rainbow, the second rainbow mirrors the primary one.

You may be so captivated by the stunning sight of a double rainbow that you failed to notice a wonderfully delightful detail: The second arch displays its colours in the opposite order of the primary rainbow!

I didn't know that..I'm gonna be looking for it next time, we get quite a few here (y)

This will gross you out ...

When Tupac Shakur died in 1996, members of his old group, The Outlawz, sent the rap legend off in the most appropriate way they knew how.

They rolled up Pac's ashes and smoked them.

"If you listen to 'Black Jesus,'" one of the Outlawz members said in 2011, "'Last wishes ... smoke my ashes.' That was a request that he had. Now, how serious he was about it? We took it serious."

I wonder if this is a collectors edition ?

Mark Gruenwald, veteran Marvel comic book editor

Having overseen huge projects like the "Captain America" series and "The Avengers," Gruenwald was obsessed with comics. So he let it be known to family and friends that upon his death he wanted to be turned into one.

Though he met an untimely death at just 42 years old, in 1997, his wishes were honoured.

His ashes were used as the ink in an issue of "Squadron Supreme," a reprint of a 1985 comic he wrote

Your eyes are the only organ that does not change size as you grow.
You, know Tony, I was born in the 30's, so the smooth sounds of classical, swing and the big band era were what I was accustomed to. The Beatles sounded so tinny to my ears. I never figured out how anyone could abide that sound. I love good music. I want to hear instrumentation that is full bodied.
I am probably one of the very few people around that did not like the Beatles. As far as I was concerned, they ruined music with their twangy guitars. Had they not had the long hair, they would have been just another musical group, although, Lennon probably would have been a very popular songwriter. He did have talent at writing music.

Marie Curie’s notebooks are still radioactive.

The mother of modern physics was known for her work with radioactive materials and the discovery of elements like polonium and radium. Unfortunately, her research took a hefty toll on her health, leading to aplastic anemia, which caused her death. The exposure to radioactivity didn’t just affect her, it also affected most of her belongings, including her clothes, furniture, and books. Now, more than a century later, Marie Curie's notebooks have to be stored in a lead box, as they are still radioactive (and will be for another 1,500 years!).

If you took a penny, doubled the sum everyday, 1-2-4-8 etc. At the end of the month you'd be a Millionaire.

Anyone remember the old story in which the king offers “your weight in gold” for something someone had done. But the man said “no, that’s far too much. Just give me a one coin today, and two coins tomorrow, and 3 the next day, and so on for a month.”

I wonder if small violations of law might be treated that way. First offense, $100. Second $200. Then $400 … $800 … $1600 … Even a dedicated and wealthy scofflaw would soon find his behavior prohibitively expensive.

How many ancestors do you have a thousand years ago, say 50 generations? 2 parents...4 grandparents...8 great grandparents... and so on 50 times = 2^50 = 1,125,899,906,842,624
