Did you or would you have your DNA tested?

I guess I'm part of the "tin hat" crowd. I don't mind if my strands got into the hands of advertisers, or scientists. But into the hands of the PD, I'm not so sure. If the DNA lab screwed up and I'm not 10% Hopi Native American, no real problem. But what if my DNA was mixed with a serial rapist's DNA? Nothing humans do is foolproof.

That's where I'm at. At 70 years old, I've never been fingerprinted or had DNA tested. Seems like you read every day about another cold case crime solved by find a DNA sample match. I have lived my entire life not really knowing what country all my relatives immigrated from. And, lacking that knowledge has never really caused me great concern. So... NO! You can have a sample of my DNA by court order only!!!

The "chain of custody" procedures that police agencies have adapted(since the O.J. trial) have reduced the opportunity for mistakes and/or evidence tampering considerably. However, since DNA evidence is considered to be so airtight, if there was some kind of mix up, you'd definitely need Johnny Cochran representing you.

I have cousins on both sides of my parents families that were obsessed with Ancestry . I got bored even reading all of them , so I wouldn't be interested in doing a DNA test.

Hey Pappy,

When Henry J. Heinz entered the food business, he had well over 60 varieties, but in 1896, he chose the number 57 as his Corporate Logo, because it was a pleasant-looking, balanced pairing of 2 numerals.

57
