Directed to those of faith: Would it be blasphemous to pray to a Heavenly Mother?

All entities of the Heavens are either feminine or masculine.
The one God of all gods appears as a masculine personal God.
Jesus is also masculine.
Just curious, Gaer. You appear to have a great deal of knowledge on the subject. Does the Bible mention any female Angels? It might, but I am trying hard to come up with a name. And I am sincere in the question because it ties in with my understanding that Scripture is trying to make the spiritual more understandable by using human terms and references (understandable at those times), even coming to us in man's likeness! The human mind cannot grasp the wonder and glory when it comes to God and Angels unless it's being brought down to our level!

I receive sacred messages from the Holy Angels of God. This is all explained in their words in my books.
These are sacred messages for the men of earth for this time. This is not debatable.
These words are to be honored as truth. They are true, real and authentic.
I agree some of their words disagree with a lifetime of teachings. Those open to the spiritual will understand.
It's not my intention to offend existing beliefs.

I'm under contract with the publisher not to reproduce too much of their writings. but the Angels describe God in great detail., as well as the Holy Spirit. I can write a paragraph or so. These are the words of Angels:

"God is all spirit and light. The almighty God is as a man, but breath and words cannot describe him. He is masculine. He is as a spirit or as a flesh and blood man. He is light and love generated by him. He is all-knowledgeable in all attributes.
God, as you choose to call him, is a being in the seat of the highest Heaven who directs all movement of all that exists.
God is a wonder to all worlds, all heavens, all space and all existence. God is all love ,all wisdom and all energy- all that is in all spectrums.
All creation is from this wisdom."

Also, My knowledge is from more than the Bible. It is from the Angels themselves! I see them hear them feel them. I know their names.
They also are either male or female. This is also described in "Angels explain God and the new Spirituality".

I think this is all I will say about this on this forum. Thank you.

Would it be blasphemous to pray to a heavenly mother? I've always wondered! After all God is Spirit, therefore neither He nor She. I would take great comfort if I could pray to a Heavenly Mother!
Excellent Question, Old Salt (y)

Blasphemy, by definition, is having lack of respect for God so praying to anyone other than Him would be lacking respect for Him because He is our Creator, the Almighty Maker of Heaven and Earth, our Father.

I agree that God has no gender. We all refer to God as He or Father, etc. Just like when we say "Man is ruining the planet"...we aren't blaming the men, we're referring to Humanity. He's not a Spirit unless you are referring to "God the Holy Sprit", "God the Son"(Jesus), and "Father"(we are His children)...aka the Trinity.

Why wouldn't you take comfort in praying to the one who created you?

Maybe it dates back to my childhood, Lara. My father was killed in Hitler's war before I could get to know him while my mother was a self sacrificing and loving Protector! I would simply find it easier to adore a "female" (yes, I know God is Spirit, that's my point) God!

I’ve tried every way I can think of, all I get in return is silence so far.

Perhaps not a good analogy ...
Ever stood silent, still, concentrating earnestly for Power Ball numbers to appear before your eyes plain as day like reading a book?
Of course it doesn't happen ... doesn't mean there aren't numbers ... and everywhere a sign of their manifestation.

In our orthodox religion, we do pray to the Virgin Mary as our protector. We ask her to "intercede for us." She has a lot of influence and has helped a lot of people. There are even monasteries devoted to her. The Nativity of the Theotokos monastery in Pittsburgh is one of them. I have gone there and found great solace with the elder and the nuns after my husband passed away. She has appeared to many monks and elders, and this has been written about.

Our orthodox religion also has female saints that we pray to, like St. Catherine and St. Mary, etc. They are feminine. There is a whole other world in the spirit realm. We believe that all these saints are living and can intercede for us. Edit: we do not worship them. That is reserved for God.

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. My son grew up without a father too. It's hard. I understand.
I didn't say God is Spirit. I said He is more than that. He's God the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit (that's according to my faith. I would never tell you what to believe)

Blasphemy means to "slander" or to "injure." It does not mean that praying to anyone other than God would be lacking respect for Him.

The Roman Catholic branch of Christianity also has female saints! We acknowledge them (well, some of us do) but don't believe in their intercession. Jesus (in our branch) is the only one who can intercede! I like turning to Saints, to me they are eminently approachable!

It took desperation on my part before I got an answer! In the meantime just trust that there was an answer to your prayers in there somewhere. I know it sounds glib but the answer can also be "no" or "wait" at times.
I have had responses to my questions from God. That still voice that keeps repeating itself is a sign that you are being guided. Be still and listen for it. I have done what needed to be done based on those voices (few and far between) and this opened up a whole new world for me.

Many saints have written script that we follow in our Divine Liturgy. St. John Chrysostomos and St. Basil are two that I remember. Our faith is not only based on the Bible, but on our oral tradition passed down from Jesus and the apostles.

Thank you, Lara!

John 4:24 KJV
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Don't forget, the Trinity is not three separate persons but three manifestations of the ONE God in our theology! Even though we do sing: God in three persons, Blessed Trinity!

Blasphemy means to "slander" or to "injure." It does not mean that praying to anyone other than God would be lacking respect for Him.
But in my view I wouldn't be praying to "someone" else, Palides. In my mind it would be the same God! If someone more spiritual and clued in than me encouraged me that it was okay!
