As this Covid is now running for another year, I find that I look at the news less and less as time goes by. I suppose it's the photos. I really get tired of the same old photos of people getting long swabs stuck up their noses. Furthermore, I get tired of all those masks. I see no reason why people cannot take their darn masks off for a few seconds for a photo. Certainly with the invention of the zoom lens can't the young generation of photographers keep their social distance of 2 meters. I bet they could! A full uncovered face is definitely a lot more pleasant to look at than masked people. If you ask me, the media is getting worse and worse every year. Maybe all the good & professional photographers are now gone & we must suffer with smartphone photos. Almost as bad as the news stations going cheap by using web cam interviews. Cheap is seldom better & almost always worse.

I agree, Packer, the media really does know how to play-it-up with interviews and reports conducted in masks.

Glad I "cut the cable" over 18 years ago. I prefer the internet for news but those pictures are still pretty disgusting. I don't want to sound like I'm dated but it seems that the younger generation has no class nor good taste. What is next, photos of bare bums?
 
What I don't like about TV news is that they have given up the concept of being objective, and factual based. Now, we just have cheering sections for two political groups. It's not only 'slanting the news", but in promoting lies, half truths, and twisted opinion as "fair and balanced". When , in the '60s, there was a bulletin from CBC, NBC, +ABC, it was deemed to be factual, and true. You can't say that anymore about TV, radio, and newspapers. And any idiot with a Facebook page can manipulate facts into false propaganda, and become "the media". We've lost truth.
