Do make the same food everyday for breakfast or change it up? What is your breakfast story?

I mostly make cream of wheat for breakfast. I started making it when I turned 5, when mother said “if you want it you make it“. Was never sure if she meant breakfast in general or just cream of wheat, but whatever. 😂. My first attempt ended in a serverly burnt hand and a spanking for being stupid. Learned about pot holders that day, never burnt my hand again.

Her cream of wheat always had lumps in it. The lumps were filled with uncooked grain. Mine never had lumps. I now realize that she heated the milk, put the cream of wheat in, and popped it into a bowl when it thickened. She didn't stir. 😯. I stir. I also like steel cut oatmeal but that takes half hour to make. Can’t stand that long.

I change it up occasionally, but mostly it’s cream of wheat, sometimes with a side of eggo waffles and jam. Yummy.

Three main components: 1) A slurry of powdered beet root, powdered hemp seed, powdered green veggie concentrate and oat bran.....mixed with enough water to make it drinkable. 2) a bowl of strawberries and mango chunks. 3) 2 hard boiled eggs.
Every week or so I substitute 2 bananas for the strawberries and mango chunks.
And black coffee too.

This morning it was a Joseph's Bakery low carb pita stuffed with cheese, pepperoni, and ripe olives that I microwaved long enough to melt the cheese.

Sometimes I have oatmeal, puffed wheat, or Cheerios.

Frozen waffles with SF syrup and a side of sausage or a frozen microwavable sausage biscuit are a rare treat.

Usually, it's whatever leftovers I can find when I rummage around in the refrigerator.

A slice of leftover pizza always tops the list!

I have plain Cheerios every morning. Occasionally, I have oatmeal/porridge or a couple pieces of toast. Always coffee.

Sometimes I have leftovers, sometimes I have bacon and eggs (cooked a variety of ways), sometimes a can of tuna with mayo, depends on how hungry I am. Some mornings if I am busy and forget to eat so will eat in the afternoon and that is my meal for the whole day. I received a gift of one of those small waffle makers, so at times I will be on a waffle kick..........making waffles or grilled cheese sandwiches with it.

I love breakfast, it's my favorite meal. Mostly, I have bacon and eggs, waffles and bacon, some sort of pancake concoction, or an omelet.

But when I don't want to eat (or bother cooking) the heavy stuff, I have cereal with milk and fruit. That's what I had this morning: Canteloupe Crispix with blueberries and milk, and coffee.

@Aneeda72 do you have a crockpot? Steel cut or old fashioned oats cooked in a crockpot overnight are perfectly done and piping hot when you get up. You can add things too...raisins, dates, flax seed or other additions to make it healthy, naturally sweet etc.

No I don’t

I've fallen into a routine over the past few years, and I make my own breakfast, so in case my wife is ill, I don't feel helpless in the kitchen. One morning I have a bowl of Raisin Bran, with a slice of bacon....the next day, two eggs, toast and bacon, and the third day a waffle and bacon....I like bacon. Then, I repeat the routine.

I'm forever changing it up.

We enjoy everything from oatmeal (with milk and granulated sugar or brown sugar and butter), bacon & eggs, toasted bacon, tomato and cheese sandwiches, along with another sandwich I refer to as a moons-over-hammy, hash-browns and ham or sausages (always with fresh cut garden vegetables... cucumbers, tomatoes), and more.

Problem with us is, we just don't eat breakfast like we used to. I find for the most part I'm not all that hungry when I first wake, and neither is dear husband, so we usually just have a cup of coffee with a slice or two of toast, but when the kids were still at home and young and growing, breakfasts in our house were an all-out event.

These days we're on Keto so if we have hard boiled eggs (the Costco ones) and avocados I'll have eggs and avocado mixed together. If we don't I'll usually make myself three eggs scrambled.

Sometimes my wife makes Keto biscuits and gravy which I love.

When I'm not on Keto and I'm going into the office I like to make overnight oatmeal. I like making it with vanilla rice protein, shredded coconut, a tablespoon of maple syrup and then rice or coconut milk substitute. I love that.

Sometimes when we're in a hurry I'll have a glass of chocolate Vega One mixed with milk substitute.

For everybody who likes eggs and avocados- try the eggs baked in avocado recipe!!!

As for me, though, breakfast is almost always two cups of coffee. Nothing added, no variations.
Just looked that recipe up JaniceM. Sounds delicious. Thanks for that, will give it a try. Didn't know you could bake an avocado.(y)
