I mostly make cream of wheat for breakfast. I started making it when I turned 5, when mother said “if you want it you make it“. Was never sure if she meant breakfast in general or just cream of wheat, but whatever.
. My first attempt ended in a serverly burnt hand and a spanking for being stupid. Learned about pot holders that day, never burnt my hand again.
Her cream of wheat always had lumps in it. The lumps were filled with uncooked grain. Mine never had lumps. I now realize that she heated the milk, put the cream of wheat in, and popped it into a bowl when it thickened. She didn't stir.
. I stir. I also like steel cut oatmeal but that takes half hour to make. Can’t stand that long.
I change it up occasionally, but mostly it’s cream of wheat, sometimes with a side of eggo waffles and jam. Yummy.
