Do you air out the house?

Unfortunately, opening up windows if it cools off at night is more inexpensive for us to cool off the house but I wish we never had to. I'm allergic to mold and it's all over in this area. I read an article by an allergist recently and he said that if people allergic to mold want to spend any amount of time outside, they'll have to move to the North Pole, the South Pole or northern Greenland; the last sentence in his article said, "If you're allergic to mold, your best bet is to stay the h*ll inside."

My mother always required this every morning. Now I do it too. I can not stand the smell of old cooking.
Yes. I just came inside. Whole house blue. Son had been cooking. I said: Don't you guys notice? Huh?
I air out the house several times a day. Clean the bath, toilet, put the window open and the front and balcony door.

No. I have in the past, and it brings in an outside "earthy" odor I don't care for, just as clothes get after drying on an outdoor clothesline (which I have not done in many years). The central air seems to manage to keep the air okay for me. Also I have plug in air freshners, and occasionally burn wax melts, especially after cooking foods that leave lingering odors.

When the weather is nice, I will open the windows for a few hours except that I never open my bedroom window. I’m allergic to most things that grow outside including mold and I have asthma. I only open my windows on days that it’s not windy. It really feels good to have some fresh air in the house.

absolutely, every day. First thing I do every morning when I get up is open all the windows back and front.. and the back door... and they stay open all day long until it starts to get dark... unless it's raining hard or terrifically windy...

My house as far as I know smell very nice... I'd hate to think there was any horrible smells here.. I;m very sensitive to smells of all types, and coming in from outside I would know if there was any bad smells here..

I always the back door open when I'm cooking even if it's raining hard. I have a porch canopy so the rain doesn't come into the kitchen, but I always have the door open when cooking, and I have the extractor fan on if I'm cooking something smelly, like onions or garlic... or frying anything at all

When I lived in Wisconsin, which has a much colder climate than I have now, it was always nice in the spring to be able to open your windows after having them shut all winter. We didn’t have air-conditioning so opening our windows was necessary.

Then my last child had asthma from a year old and we couldn’t open any of the bedroom windows upstairs because his allergies were so bad so we had to install window air conditioners in all the bedrooms. We still had to open the windows downstairs of course because we did not have central air.
