Do you air out the house?

that's incredible isn't it ?...In May !
Not really. I flew in and out of Denver over the Rockies in May during heavy snow squalls. Two and a half to three hours later, I would land in LA and the temp was 73 degrees. I also remember flying in and out of Chicago during May and snowing.

With Spring weather in the U.S., we never know what we will be getting. We can always count on tornadoes in the central plains and in Colorado through Oklahoma is “Tornado Alley.” We see devastating pictures each spring where large funnel clouds have cut a path through small towns and lots of farm land.

I was living east of Cleveland in the 70’s when I flew for Air Wisconsin (United Express) and I would see snow flurries in May. Those were the best of times. Right now, I am in Baltimore and it is 86 degrees. I have the A/C on in my SUV.

But May is a spring/summer month... so it's not normal for it to snow in Spring/summer

:D

I would sit here with the windows wide open the whole time. A couple evenings this week it's gotten cold in the evenings, but certainly during the day I open up all the windows. Sadly, my wife and I have different internal temperatures, so she'll close them. But man, I love the air to flow.

Michael?.. SNOW..in MAY ? :eek::eek:
Our Mets baseball game was postponed last night, Holly as it snowed in Colorado. I guess the Mid northwest is getting the white stuff. The weather channel has stated that this will be the coolest May ever, due to a weakened vortex.
So far, our weather in NJ has been fine, but extremely windy. As long as it stays relatively warm, I'll take it.

I hate the wind more than any other weather ..here in the UK.... it gives me a headache, and I'm not prone to headaches...

I used to air out the house in the spring time but my house has a pier and beam foundation and it has shifted so that the windows do not open and close as well as they should so I just leave them closed...my house is old.

We do it everyday the whole year. The downside is that here in our village a lot of dust accumulates inside the house because of airing.
This is a problem where I have my house in Spain because we're just 10 minutes from the beach and any wind brings all the sand in the air,...so leaving windows open means a lot of dust. However there we have Reverse AC..so it's not too much of a problem...

I have seen it snow in the Rockies several times in May. Some parts of those mountains go above 12,000 feet.
In New Mexico are the Sandia Mountains. I have gone to the Balloon Fiesta during early October and it was snowing up there. It was very warm while on the ground, but cold and snowy up on top of the mountain. Every morning at daybreak, they have what is called a “grand ascension” where all the hot air balloons lift off together. It’s amazing to watch.

If my house hadn’t burned, I would have pictures to show. I did save a very few pictures, so I will look and see if maybe by chance I have one.

yes I understand snow up in the mountains where the air is freezing cold.....

I do not air out my house every morning, unless the weather is warm.

However, I have several air leaks under a door. And I decided not to seal them since I think it’s important for old air to be vented and new fresh outside air to come into the house. This probably runs up my heating bill a bit in winter, but I don’t think it’s much.
