"Always", that's pretty damning. Sometimes a person's question needs to be questioned.

that honestly drives me nuts..My now X husband was the one who was guilty of this all the time.. never a straight answer to anything....

It's something that seasoned politicians have learned. By throwing a question straight back, you keep the conversation going in the direction you want it to.
