Do you believe a duty to care could be called the foundation of most of our laws?

I am sure I can go searching in the bible and find many examples of duty of care - I think Christ must have recited them daily during his sojourns? We are all asked in a civilized society to exercise a duty of care everyday of our lives towards our own and to others - its that simple - friends ;colleagues ; family and strangers

He's kind of radical even by today's standards on some matters. I was joking when I called him "radical".

Somehow this statement by Uncle Ben means something about the need for citizens to care...caring takes understanding and knowledge so the phrase goes “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” Benjamin Franklin
This is the first time I have heard that phrase. I am going to keep it as one of my favorites. It is so true and so full of wisdom. Some of the greatest minds on the planet were alive and living in our colonial past. What a great time for great ideas! Such determined and passionate people!

Case closed. Not in my opinion. Anyone could have done the right thing and picked up that line. From your post, I'd assume you wouldn't. I only give someone a pass if they don't have the ability to pick something up due to physical reasons.

But there is trash everywhere people leave. When I owned that house a few miles out of town, I used to see an older man walking and I noted him to pick up trash. I drove by him many times. That's my kind of people.

You 'give someone a pass'? Some of us take ourselves much too seriously! The old man, unlike you, madam, was picking up trash without blaming anyone for it.
With respect, you seem almost to be foaming at the mouth. What you might do when more urgent problems arise I don't know.
