Do you buy or look for designer labels?

I have been curious about other guys when they buy their clothes. Do you buy or look for designer labels or stick with brand names that you have worn for years? I have a few friends that will only buy Nike golf clothing and a few that will only buy Under Armour. One fellow buys the way overpriced “Grand Slam” brand. I don’t like mixing name brands, so if I wear a pair of Nike pants, I wouldn’t wear an Under Armour shirt.

I went shopping with my neighbor last week and he’s buying his fall clothes. He bought 3 pair of Lee jeans, 5 pair Dockers cotton slacks and w pair of Izods. All that and 8 shirts of different brands. I know he bought a few Polo short sleeve shirts and a few Izod shirts and of course his Apt. 9 shirts. None of the less expensive brands for instance, Sonoma.

I have my favorite brands too. Some guys won’t shop if what they want isn’t on sale. I don’t wait for sales. If I have a need and I have the time to go shopping, I buy what I need then. Having the time is what usually holds me up because I don’t take it out of the store if it doesn’t fit. I try everything on.

This reminded me of years ago when my husband called me cheap. We were out shopping and I saw a dress I liked. I said to him if we got invited to his friends wedding I would come back and buy that dress. He said "Thats what I mean about you. You're cheap." I replied if I wasn't cheap you wouldn't be able to afford a $400.00 suit". I won that argument.

I don't give a damn about brands. If it's well made, and fits me good, I'll buy it.
Mostly I wear this in the winter 'cause the fleece lining keeps me warm, and I usually buy Eddie Bauer T-s in the summer because they are well made and hold their shape.

I buy North Face over Eddie Bauer. According to Consumer Reports, both labels are a toss up. I do prefer a certain brand name of dress shirt and the same for my slacks. As for my golf clothes and other casual wear, I buy whatever looks appropriate, but I do like Docker slacks. I wear a lot of Dri-Fit shirts in the the summer. Cotton shirts are too hot.

Yep, all the time and always on offer. Why buy stuff from M&S when it never fits, adding during the past year I have purchased several pairs of brand-new shoes still in boxes for as little as £5/20, normally £120. Same with Meyer jeans/chinos etc, normally £120. All with tags. Then the coats, North Face, Berghaus, Rab etc, etc. The problem is I now have so many bargains with tags, I never wear them.

I have one son who refuses to buy T-shirts with advertising across the chest. He's never been interested in fashion but when he was in New York he did buy a lovely dress suit, Italian made for formal wear, it looked very dressy. The other son always keeps up with the fashions. Looks terrific when he gets dressed up.

My soon2Bex is the same.. he can afford hgh end designer, but he refuses to wear anything that has a log or a brand name on it.. it really made buying clothes for him difficult, because even the Polo shirts have a little golfer logo on them

Is this thread only for the boys?
Have to say though, I like good quality threads for my hubby and myself. So don't mind shelling out for the good quality stuff whether it's designer or not.
