Do you Change your mind on your plans?

I don't know why I make plans for travel or going somewhere local
and then when the time comes, I don't want to go, and not for a strong reason.
. Not that I am ill or bad weather. Is this anxiety?
What seems like a great idea early in the week or month doesn't
look so good later. I mean leisure activities, not errands or business.

Suppose you plan a trip and book reservations. Do you change your
mind for no good reason when the time approaches?

Nope. I am always excited about the trips we take, the dinners we make reservations for, the plans with friends or to do the many fun activities we enjoy. The only time we change plans is if work intervenes or if one of us is really sick.

Not at all. If there's any kind of problem or hesitation regarding plans, it's deciding on something to begin with. But once I do, I'm not going to second-guess myself. If I had to guess, Victor, why you get to feeling the way you expressed, is that sometimes climbing out of a self-imposed rut is just too much work. I bet once you get going on something you've decided on, you enjoy yourself.

I keep my options as open as possible, so I may plan to go somewhere, but the details will probably change dozens of time before I go. When I drive over to Europe, I know when I'm going and when I'm coming back - but I've got no idea where I'm going in between.

So, my advice is, don't plan too much in advance - be spontaneous - if you fancy doing something, just do it.

I think there is anxiety involved. I am familiar with this type of Agoraphobia. Unfortunately, the more you isolate yourself to outside activities, the harder the habit is to break. You might want to speak with a professional. No shame. Most anxiety stems from depression and it is depressing to be fearful of shaking off routines. If you are healthy, try walking outdoors at least and do more and more. Hate the term 'baby steps' but it fits.

Yes! What a great post! I suffer from social phobia and have a very difficult time being around a lot of people so I do change plans and modify when needed and I DO walk everyday. It helps a lot with the general anxiety; not so much the people part.

I woulda wrote this

...don't have to now

Well, I don't have agoraphobia (that literally means fear of the marketplace) because I like going out but I do not
like driving much or taking the subway, buses. If someone drove me, then I'd be happy to go. That will never happen.

Anxiety and depression are intertwined. The medicine for it helps but does not cure.
Don't plan in advance much but you must for plane and hotel reservations, usually. I have canceled
several times on this. Many times I don't want to walk anywhere because it bores me! And I tire easily.

We have never cancelled an airline flight, but have cancelled a motel/hotel stay. Upcoming bad weather or found a better motel/hotel to stay at. Actually, we were planning a weekend trip next month, but decided against it. Money for our upcoming move was the deciding factor.

We don't mind getting around people, because we've been to Disney World, SeaWorld, zoo, local Fair, etc.

Very seldom. Usually, when I make plans, I follow through, unless a really good reason comes up to cancel.
