Do you connect with people in dreams?

Do you think / believe that people can reach out to one-another through dreams? Can people 'channel' others, perceiving others thoughts & feelings, and connect in cerebral environment we call dreams?

Freud considers dreams to be "wish fulfillment" of conscious or unconscious desires. But, that's Freudian theory, as presented in The Interpretation of Dreams. I'm not a Freud 'fan' although some of his works seems to have some relevance.

I've never experienced reaching another person through a dream, so I really can't say I believe or don't believe. It just hasn't happened to me. I think dreams are just a way of working through problems/fears or decisions that we're unable to deal with on a conscious level.

Absolutely!
I've had many dreams where a man I knew 40-50 years ago comes up and says "Hello! Remember me?"
(in the dream) The very next day, he calls or e-mails me.

If the person is living or dead makes no difference. They are contacting you.

Sometimes, dreams seem so intensely real, you know in your heart, they were more than a dream.
There is an area in some dream states, I'm convinced, we communicate with the Holy Angels,
spirits no longer of the Earth, and loved ones separated by distance.

Yes, We visit on a dream level. Go to sleep but request a visit from a loved one or a friend .
They will come. You may not remember the visit. Gone are the images when you arise but
because they were there, you may recall feelings or words. This is natural.
The visit may only be a moment of your time and so quickly dismissed from the mind.
These are true visits. You might even perceive them visually, if you open your eyes.
They in the heavenly plane often come to see friends and family.

I really don't think so. I'm a big dreamer, have had many detailed dreams in color and remember many of them. I dream of people I presently know, have known in the past, or loved ones who have passed on. I've consciously welcomed a relative who has died to communicate with me in my dreams, but it never happened. I do dream of them sometimes, but I feel it's only because I've been thinking of them.

I've never dreamed of someone that I haven't seen for a long time, and suddenly bumped into them. I think dreams are a product of our conscious or subconscious thoughts, nothing more. Hope I'm understanding your question. :)

I am aware of and interested in how people can share thoughts and feelings remotely...when not in the physical presence of one another. It happens on more occasions than I am comfortable in writing off as coincidence. Science has not yet developed a
method to detect and map such occurrences, known as ESP or paranormal.

I agree, have awoken quite startled and looking around....

I've never reached anyone through dreams, but I definitely wouldn't say it isn't possible. I do agree that dreams are the result of subconscious thoughts, fear or desires. I've frequently had dreams about something I was thinking about before I went to sleep. After my father passed away, I constantly had dreams about being in danger or chased by something/someone because I no longer had my "protector". Many times in my career I had dreams about something negative happening, and I fully believe it was the stress of the job and worrying about the outcome of various initiatives. Sometimes I would dream that I was giving a speech completely unprepared or not fully dressed. 🥴

Now that I'm retired I frequently have dreams about being back in business/social situations. I was in a big, social industry where frequently more time was spent with colleagues than at home with love ones. I guess I dream about it now because it is something that is missing in my life these days.

Along the same line, I have had visits from 4 Dirt Nappers. Visits have been so clear that I am not sure if I am asleep, or wide awake.

Questions I ask are pretty much ignored, but information is given without asking for it that apparently is not off limits to be given.

There are absolute rules on the other side that govern their interaction with the living, so I have been informed.

I have connected with people in my dreams sometimes talking to them and having a conservation then the next day remembering parts of it. People that I worked with in the past and asking them how things have changed since I left. Some relatives that I knew or know also. In my dreams I am not sure how accurate those dreams are becuse it is hard to communicate before things start changing and the connection is lost.

I have had the same dream several times where I am 9 years old (the age I was when my mom and dad were killed) and my dad keeps telling me that he hopes I grow to be big and strong and never be a quitter. Always do what's right and never turn your back on your friends. My psychologist tells me that is exactly what it is----- "an unfulfilled wish." I guess now I know where got that from.

Once, only once, many years ago. A woman I was involved with for a short time, had the same dream I did, where we were riding around the woods in a jeep together (something we never did in real life). Similar details of our dreams were remarkably uncanny. There was a strong connection between us to be sure, but I'm cautious about claiming we shared a dream through some psychic process, remarkable as it may have seemed. What are the odds of this happening by chance? Well in a lifetime of 78 years, I would say it's bound to happen to a few people, maybe more than once.

As a side note, I don't remember many, if any, dreams where I dreamed I was engaging anyone at a deep personal level. My "dream people" are almost always just sort of there. We may exchange words, but it's seldom about anything important or meaningful.

Yes. I have. The 'mechanism' is related to the one that produces telepathy. One's consciousness is involved.
For me it most often happens between 3 & 5 a.m., and hs sometimes involved catastrophic where many people are afraid and getting injured.

Many years ago i had a friend who could not sleep in my house because she would be pulled into the dreams of my young sons. When they were 5 yrs old we'd all shared a motel room at a Silva Method Conference, that's how she discovered it. While distance is not generally relevant, she was quite fond of my boys and probably was more receptive when in proximity to them, childless herself, she may simply have bern more aware and tuned to them when she'd just spent waking time with them.

When i was pregnant with my daughter, the boys turned 8 about 9-10 weeks before she was born, i had to be careful what i read once they were asleep because the imagery would get into their dreams.

And when my daughter was 4 yrs old she walked out of her bedroom one morning yelling "i want the machine, give me the machine!" Iasked 'What machine?" as i looked up from my Sunday paper and realized she was sleep walking. She repeated the two sentences while placing her clenched hands to her chest, approximately where defib paddles are applied.

Later that day my favorite maternal Aunt called to tell me my grandmother had been revived from heart attack early that morning. She did not want DNR, had several such incidents over the next year, facility finally caught her in lucid moment and convinced her to sign the DNR; next cardiac event ended her life at 98. Thankfully there was no repeat of the incident where she connected with my daughter.

I don’t recall conversing with people in my dreams. Almost all dreams involve my parents and I find it odd that almost all occur at the house in which I lived for the first 14-15 years of my life. Like Just Dave, any people are “just there” and we don’t exchange meaningful conversations. I have consciously asked my family who have passed on to “visit” me and I do feel my mother’s presence for fleeting moments but no one else.

No, I do not think think so.

Angelina Jolie visits me every Friday night and she always wants to have sex. I have to keep telling her no, I prefer deep peaceful sleep.
Double Ought Lawrence! If she is ever successful in convincing you to naiky rassle with her, you will be wise to have a full body, ACME Emergency Prophylactic Skank Sex Suit (Patent Pending) in your dresser, closet or under your Work Bench (bed). Better safe than itchy and oozie a day or two down the road.

Definitely. I've received some valuable information from dead relatives and friends through dreams. It's amazing and something technology is not presently sophisticated enough to understand or explain.

My sister in law swears my deceased brother has come to her several times since his death to tell her he was ok. She said when he last came he told her it would be his final visit. That was three years ago and he has not returned.
