Do you do silly things like me?

I left a bag of groceries at Walmart last year. Took two of them but left the last one hanging on the hook at the self-checkout. I got home, realized that I did it and went back. The manager had them behind the counter at customer service. Luckily, there were no frozen items in the bag. I was truly surprised that I got them back. I figured that the next person in line would have walked off with them. Goes to show there are still homest people in the world.

That's the only one I'm going to admit to at this time. There are a lot more, though......a LOT more.

I have done that in the past. Strange thing is, I only had one bag. Walked out with nothing and never thought anything of it. Only realised when I got to my car. I asked myself, "Why did I come here? to do a little shop so where is my shopping?":)

I'm always doing stuff like that. Last year, some of you may remember..I was shopping at Aldi...it was just after my marriage breakdown so my mind wasn't functioning on all cylinders..

Packed the shopping in the boot of the car.. left the empty Trolley in the Car park..and drove home..

Wasn't till I got home that I realised I didn't have my bag, with my purse, credit cards.. phone.. everything in it...:eek:

I drove like a mad person back to the town centre store .. rush hour..long queues of traffic.. every second counted, I couldn't wait in the traffic..so I drove over the middle of the Dual Carriageway to cut 15 minutes off my journey .....heart thumping..full on Panic.. got to the Car Park... and my Bag was gone..!!

Dashed into the store, really believed I'd seen the last of the Bag..and everything in it.. and asked the first assistant I met if anyone had handed it in... and I almost fainted with relief when she said YES... and what's more the guy who'd found it was still in the store paying for his shopping at the till.. so I was able to go and thank him profusely... *Phew*

So, so lucky. Plenty of people would have walked off with it.

Leaving your purse in a cart? Yep, done it. First Christmas after my husband died, I was trying to slog through Christmas and went to Walmart to buy presents for the little 'uns. I was at another store down the highway when I realized I had left my purse in the shopping cart.

To make a long story short, got back there at least 30 minutes later and the purse was still in the cart, contents a bit soggy (raining) but intact. There was a lot of money in that purse plus things I didn't want to have to replace.

After I stopped crying, I went back to the store and put a hundred dollars in the Salvation Army kettle in gratitude for my luck.

Last week, at Walmart, half way through my shopping spree I realized I was pushing someone else's shopping cart. Luckily the lady who worked in one of the departments I was in, was keeping an eye on things. She told me where my original cart was. I felt so stupid knowing that someone was watching me walk off with a different cart. 🤭
Had you started adding your shopping? How many items did you add before you spotted something that was not yours?

I have gone to the drive through for food. Stopped at first window to pay. Then instead of stopping to pick up my meal, I just drove out and went home.
Been there too with a friend. We ordered our meal and we were talking and laughing in drive thru and she just drove away. I started laughing at the road out and I said"Don't you think we better go back for our food" our husbands were at her house waiting on us to return.

Well, it's only the second time I've ever done this, but yesterday I walked out of the house to go grocery shopping without my keys. That meant I was locked out of my house!

Thank God, or I should say, thank my husband; after the first time I did it, he had the sense to hide a key on our property in case it should happen again. Bless him. :)

Bretty old mate, I wouldn't dream of doing silly things to you, but I'd buy you a pint if you came into my local. 😊

Was at the supermarket, using self checkout, also got $20 cash out. Walked out without taking the money. Silly duffer I am.:)

I've used a self-checkout and then walked out without paying. My mind being on something else. I got about 20 yards outside of the supermarket, realised then turned around to go back in.

As I turned around a female member of staff was right behind me. She was very nice about it and invited me back in to pay. She was smiling as we went back in. Everything was fine. I could only think that it must have already been obvious to her that my mind was somewhere else?
