I'm sorry to hear about your sight. Yes I drive at night. I used to drive home from work about midnight. The good thing is, traffic was very light. I drive to work in the dark in the winter, about six AM.

Driving when it's dark in the winter about 5-6 PM is terrible when the traffic is heavy. I try to avoid that.

I can, but I no longer have any reason to since I'm retired. I used to drive home from the airport at night when I was working, up until 2 years ago. We are usually settled in at night, but if we go to an evening play or a concert my partner drives. He is 8 years younger so his night vision is better than mine. I have no desire to drive at night. It is hard enough dealing with bad drivers during the day!

That is pretty much the situation I am in. It has become rare for me to drive at night.

Due to much less traffic, night driving in familiar territory seems easier. I've wished I'd waited for daylight on a trip in unfamiliar territory.

I drive at night because I still get out to theaters, restaurants and a few bars, if I chose to have a date. I used to fly at night when I was in the military. I would sooner fly in the daylight hours, but flying at night can be beautiful if we were just doing maneuvers.

No. There is total glare from oncoming traffic, from the headlights. I also have trouble driving in the rain. I can't see the lines in the road very well, and glare from oncoming traffic is there, too. I went to an ophthalmologist about it a few years ago, and she said there is nothing wrong with my eyes.

The lights blind me -- I can only see them -- huge, with halos. I can't tell which lane the cars are in, or how close they are to me.

I read somewhere - on the National Transportation Safety Board's website, I think -- that this problem is caused by the headlights themselves, and if manufacturers used available headlights that don't have that problem, it would be a lot better.

Yes, lights often seem bright, but others in the car notice the same.

Yes I do. I am also T2 diabetic but per my last annual eye exam, I see just fine. But since gas is now about $5.50 a gallon, I drive as little as possible day or night..

As with many others here, I can drive at night, but prefer not to. Deer on the road after dark are a real factor here, plus the number of alcohol-addled drivers sharply increases, and you simply can’t see as far to react…

In the winter months, I’m often driving home from work at dusk or later. I don’t really have concerns about driving at night other than being more cautious, especially when it’s raining, because of reduced visibility.

I can drive at night, but I'd rather not if I don't have to. It's nice when someone else who's going to the same place picks me up. If I want to go out at night, I try to keep it close to home. Sometimes, if a place where people want to meet is a little farther than I'd like to drive and I can't hitch a ride with someone else, I'll pass on the invitation.

Since I’m the on-call nurse, I often am out at all hours. In this rural area, watching out for deer is top priority. I haven’t hit one but they do tend to appear suddenly and at great speed

I will drive at night if I really need to. We live on a rural highway and the people who wait to the last second to turn off their brite lights is almost blinding. Once on the freeway it's a straight shot...and the traffic isn't as cluttered in town.
