Do You eat Breakfast or Not?

I dont eat breakfast, per se. During the day, I will enjoy a bowl of cereal, a few pieces of peanut butter toast or a yogurt with blueberries. But those are time-neutral options to me: cereal can be dinner, soup can be breakfast, who cares.

I take a handful of pills / vitamins in the morning and if I don't eat something I will get queazy.

So ms gamboolgal cuts up a bunch of vegetables for me ahead of time and keeps it in the Refrigerator.

In the spirit off Euell Gibbons - I eat a plate of Rabbit Food and a glass of Vegetable (V8) juice, a bottle of water, and a piece of toast. Celery, Radishes, Bell Peppers and Carrots....crunch, crunch, crunch

I think you get the prize for the healthiest breakfast....(y)

I need to eat something first thing. Im awake but Im not ready to do stuff.
For my first breakfast I have some Belvita Biscuits or a protein bar.
Hot tea in the winter. Pepsi in the summer.

Two or three hours later I have my second breakfast. Depends on my mood.
Sometimes just cereal. Other times I do the works.

I need to eat every two hours or I get snippy. :D
..are you diabetic ?

When we were children, our mother made us eat breakfast before we went to school. So as I grew up, I always had breakfast before I left for work. Over the years, I've worked with so many people who skip breakfast and stuff food into their mouths before they start working. The usual excuse is that I don't have time. I always get up 2 hours before I have to be at work, so I have time to shower, dress, and eat breakfast. Some people I have worked with, seem to want to stay in bed as along as possible.

Do you still eat breakfast in the mornings or not?
I always got up 2 hours before work and that meant 4:30 for years, but I never ate breakfast. I would workout for 30 minutes, shower, wash hair, dry and style hair, make-up, get dressed, catch the bus, walk a long way from the escalators to the job. Breakfast wouldn't have set well on 20 minutes of jumping rope. No, I never ate a bite during work hours but I did volunteer for the earliest lunch hour.

There's some irony in that picture. ;)
I always have a big stalk of celery with my lunch sandwich and I really miss it if I run out. Breakfast is just my coffee -- unless a cookie gets dunked in it. :sneaky:

I never used to eat breakfast. I’d have my one cup of coffee, then midmorning I’d have some fruit, then a regular lunch.

For the last few years I’ve been having breakfast because I started to get shaky and sort of fragile feeling as I started me work day. So now I have an egg on toast and a glass of skim milk before work. Ron makes that for the both of us, minus the milk and adding a couple sausage links or bacon for him.

Weekends we eat later so it’s typically brunch… a more lavish spread and I make it, then usually nothing other than fruit, till dinner.

I eat breakfast every morning, on the advice of the Diabetes Foundation .. alternating 2 eggs one day, bran cereal the next. I'm border-line, and trying to stay that way.
Me, too, @Pinky! I just had a fasting glucose test and my levels were just a shade over. It was a big improvement over my 2021 results, but I do not want diabetes. There is a lot of it in my family.

I usually have one slice of multigrain toast with peanut butter and a half-cup of blackberries or blueberries. Sometimes I swap out the peanut butter for a poached egg or two.

The first thing I do when getting up is get ready for the day - shower, shave, and dressed, and the next thing without delay is something to eat. It's never the same thing, and usually has sugar. I will not wait and eat later on.

Actually, if someone brought me a large donut or cupcake the very instant my alarm went off (5 AM) I could grab it and eat it right that minute without hesitation.

Then by noon, I'm ready for my main meal of the day - - but I could totally skip the evening meal and would be okay.

I am an early riser but was never able to eat breakfast in the morning. As a child we had tea and toast for breakfast every day. I passed my toast to my younger sister when no one was looking.

Now I have coffee when I get up, but I don't eat until I'm hungry, usually around 11 am. It can be whatever I feel like having, not necessarily breakfast food. Some examples, Greek yogurt with fruit, ham and cheese sandwich, scrambled eggs with cheese, overnight oats, leftovers from last night's dinner, cereal and banana.

That's generally it for the day. If I feel hungry in the afternoon, I have a small snack of whatever is handy.

Yes, but only a light breakfast. I don’t eat lunch, but I will eat a little fruit.
I do have a healthy dinner. Do I snack? Doesn’t most of us?

Yes...I have coffee first thing when I get up later in the morning Ill have another coffee with breakfast......which is mostly cereal of oatmeal or fiber one with berries, nuts and almond milk, one or two days a week I'll have eggs some times with a crispy bacon or whole grain toast

Yep! I drink and eat a breakfast every morning. It is part of my heritage. I get up early, do my workout, drink a protein shake, eat yogurt, applesauce, and peanut butter, then coffee. It is my belief that after a nights fasting, that fueling and exercising my body, keeps my mind sharp and my body strong. Both my grandmas taught me that an early healthy breakfast gives us females a special strength. I have carried on their tradition of getting up before the males and using that time to better myself and eat a power breakfast.

@Paladin1950
Of course daily when young tho by late teens i was rarely hungry before midday. For several years i rarely broke the overnight fast till i was hungry.

I had some gestational blood sugar issue while pregnant with my twins, and did eat at least 3 meals daily for duration of pregnancy. It cleared up after delivery but i continued that for the couple of months i was breast feeding. After that even tho i would stay up after their 4:30a.m. feeding just to have some solitude before husband got up for work and i made his breakfast, i generally didn't eat until he'd left and the boys had their next feeding.

By the time the boys were 4 i was back to my first meal of the day being closer to midday than morning. The June they turned 8 i was 6 months pregnant with daughter and had been eating breakfast at generally accepted time for it, but still got diagnosed with gestational diabetes. If i didn't eat nutritionally sound food shortly after rising and at least two other meals daily my body punished me. So in a way my kids 'made' me a breakfast eater again.

While i've kept my glucose levels under control since then thru sensible consumption breakfast has become something of a habit. So even 13 years after retiring i do have it. However, i generally don't eat until hungry (by 9 most days) unless have heavy chores planned then eat high protein breakfast instead of cereal.
