I mean apart from perhaps Ice-cream on a hot day or even chewing gum, do you eat food sometimes while walking down the street.?

Any street Jim..outside, anywhere... apart from on your own property and not at a cafe or restaurant ...walking down a street do you eat hot dogs or sandwiches or chips...or any kind of food ?

I have done it before but usually during something happening on said street - parade, street market, festival, etc.

:D:D

I do sometimes, not often tho'...it was instilled into me when i was a child that it's ''common' to walk down the street eating. ..but I have on a few occasions especially when I was a teen eaten a hot dog or a kebab or chips (french fries)..walking down the street, out of the sight of my mother tho'.

These days if I'm out and I buy something like a hot Sausage roll or a take out of some description from the bakery, I always look for a bench to sit and eat . I never eat chips or hot dogs these days...but the last time I had food from a take-away van was at a Portuguese food festival in London, where we had the biggest freshly cooked Tacos ever ...made from fresh minced lamb ...and everyone was walking around eating them..but even then I sat on the steps with dozens of others to eat rather than walk around with it..

No - but have been known to eat a chocolate bar if I was out and desperately hungry. Eating food on the street was done when I was a kid and was an an amusement park, eating popcorn or a treat.

We have a street food festival in this city in August - Taste of the Danforth (Greek neighborhood) - where the street is closed and vendors sell everything Greek, people then eat their food while walking around, looking at more food to try.

I can't think of anything I would eat while walking except an ice cream cone. But I do sometimes buy an iced tea after my yoga class and sip it while walking.

The opportunity doesn't come up very often but when I'm in Vegas or somewhere like a street festival, I'll walk down the street eating a hotdog or something. In Vegas, where it's legal to do this, I've even walked down the street drinking a beer or a margarita.

We have the annual church bazaar coming up next weekend. It's held in the parking lot down the street and we will once again be treated to the site of morbidly obese people shoveling funnel cake and corn dogs down their gaping maws as they waddle down the sidewalks.

I stay inside and lock the doors.

I used to, when the wonderful hotdog vendor was still on the street. He retired about 8 years ago. He was the last of our street vendors. Now the only time I can walk around eating food is at the county fair. And I'm only 18 pounds overweight. The walking is good for me.

As a teenager, I used to lick ice cream cones with my girlfriends while walking down the street. Never since then though.

Only at street festivals, or when I visit Saltspring Island, aka hippie ville, where summer is just one long party. I remember dancing the tango with a hot RCMP officer a few years ago. He came on a routine check of our beach party. When his shift ended, he stayed, and stayed, and stayed! Lol.

A revolting twist to "eating on the move" is one my wife & I frequently see while serving ourselves at one of the buffets: someone eating the foods with their fingers as they move from one selection to the next! Edgewater Hotel has posted signs forbidding it; guess complaints were lodged. Usually, the offender, man or woman, is a slob....er......obese individual. imp
