Do you ever say it?

I was raised to always say to my parents when leaving the house after I'd kissed them to say, love you

My folks never uttered the words....ever

So, at first, I think I was sorta cold

Now, my lady.....she changed that in me

Didn't know what I was missin'

She's a southern gal, and had some cute sayings

Like; 'C'meer and let me hug on ya'

Or; 'I luv it when ya luv on me'

I been catchin' up these last 52 years

Now, I have the urge to hug even mean dawgs

Everbody should have a hug ever now and then

Now.....c'meer

My boyfriend calls me every morning and that is the first thing he tells me. Plus many, many times through out the day. My son (who is mentally disabled......slow) always tells me he loves me before he hangs up on the phone or when he is leaving my apartment. I even tell my pet bunny I love him and I know he likes knowing that.

Every night before bed, for sure; every morning when he leaves for work, for sure; (and both morning and night are said sincerely with a hug and a kiss...not a rote habit saying); other times during the day are random. Sometimes when we are laughing over something, he will look over at me (or me him) and say “god how I love you!” Yes, it’s wonderful to hear the words, but feeling it and showing it every day, are the real warm fuzzies for me.

Some people say it all the time, after every conversation, after phonecalls, face to face etc.....

I don’t think that is sincere when it’s said like this all the time......luv ya......luv ya.....luv ya..

We never said it in our house, my parents never used this phrase.....

I’ve only just started saying it to my mum , that I love her, but she still can’t say it back, but she does say “You Too.”.....

Hubby and I , know we love each other deeply, we don’t have to say it...,!!

I mentioned earlier that my husband is very romantic and says he loves me all the time. I also say it to him. I just hung up the phone after talking to my oldest grandson and before he hung up he said, "I love you, Grandmom." His brother and my grandaughter never hang up without telling me they love me. That always makes me Happy.

I believe showing you 💘 love someone is more important than saying it. I'm not one of those touchy feely persons but that doesn't mean I'm not a caring person with a great capacity to love. When I do say it it means something special to me and I don't have to keep repeating myself.

Every time I speak to my children and grandchildren which is every day. My girlfriend and I say it every evening when we say good night and every morning when we wake up. Not to mention the small signs of affection during the course of the day

No spouse, but in my little family (son, DIL, 2 grandsons) we say it whenever we meet ... with great meaning, accompanied by warm hugs when local COVID restrictions allow.
