Do you ever win raffles?

This one is hard to understand?

Church gives away AR-15 as part of Fourth of July raffle

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Gray News) – A church in Tennessee held a raffle over Fourth of July weekend to give away an AR-15.

The River of Tri-Cities Church in Johnson City said the raffle was a part of holiday celebrations, according to a report from WJHL.

Pastor Todd Holmes told WJHL that the AR-15 was just one of many giveaways at the church, and he thought it was appropriate since it was in honor of Independence Day.

My wife won a TV in a drawing at the local grocery store. We didn't have any use for it and ended up regifting it. Another time she won a radar detector for her car, but never used it either.

One of our very good friends won a very nice bass fishing boat with motor at a boat show. It made him mad that he had to pay income tax on the fair market value. The he sold it for $5,000 below the market value and learned to smile again.

I won a raffle at my bank once for an unannounced prize. I was so excited, because I had never won anything before! Well, guess what the big prize was?- -A picture of the bank, suitable for framing. It was just a print, too, not an original oil painting or watercolor… 😾

Needless to say, that picture of the bank doesn’t grace my walls, and I’ve gone back to my usual pattern of ignoring raffles, or not winning anything if I do play… 😸
