Just keep repeating the "Serenity Prayer. "God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the energy and courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."
We MUST accept everything that happens to us no matter if it's pain, impairment or death.
I play chess at Chess.com every day to keep my mind active, I play Civilization VI at Steam.com every day, I walk TWO walks of 2,000 steps every day, I drink 8 glasses of juice, I take 3,000 mg of Tylenol and 200 mg of Gabapentin to relieve my pain. If our minds go under, just play games and amuse yourself with artificial dreams and you will make it until you will be able to accept death.
Father Death (Jesus Christ) takes us ALL in the end and we cease to exist ending all problems.
I have read that about Benadryl. Its used a lot in OTC cheap sleep meds. There are alternatives.I do think about it. I am taking daily allergy pills. Without them I suffer from debilitating migraine headaches. Research shows daily allergy medication usage increases your odds of dementia. Rock and a hard place
Ok Nathan. Thanks for acknowledging my answer to your question.Ok! I’ think it’s a good idea and will speak to him.
Thanks!
My husband died of complications of dementia and I was his caretaker for 4 years. It was awful.I do worry some when spouse asks same thing over and over ........ or forgets things i just told him .....cannot keep things in his head for even a couple hours sometimes but i see most is if it was not HIS idea or something important to him he just does not care to remember
i have known many who end up with a spouse with dementia and it looks like an awful existence..........
So sorry you have the migraines. Hopefully the allergy medication will not result in dementia. Hang in there my friend.I do think about it. I am taking daily allergy pills. Yes, I totally agree, this is a very important addition.Glad that we now have a mental health section here at SF! The topics may be at times uncomfortable to talk about, but they touch upon things that many of us may directly or indirectly encounter…
Born-to-lose... I do all the same as you, and hope that I'll never get Dementia.. but I say this to everyone.. if having a Good memory thwarted dementia.. then Actors and musicians who have to learn long lines of script, and or long musical scores would never get it.. and as we know they get it as often as anyone else..No way. My mind is excellent. I don’t forget things, faces, names, numbers whatever. My mind is sharp. I do crossword puzzles everyday. You can get thousands of free puzzles right here on the net. I like Puzzles. I carry 6 credit cards. I know the numbers on each card, including the little number on the back.
Not yetDoes getting Dementia worry you?
I'm under the impression he's in some kind of posh assisted living situation with his wifeHe picked up the phone. Hope he’s living with someone who’s caring for him.
No, because I don't choose to worry about extra things that aren't here yet. I just take care of my body the best I can. However, my recal wasn't the greatest so I am taking another supplement for the brain which is Lion's Mane 4X. One a day. It was recommended by a doctor. I got it at Fountain of Health where I live.Does getting Dementia worry you?
