Do you fear the unknown?

It really would depend upon how much control I have over the situation. The more control an individual has over something unknown, the less scary it is and more adventurous it becomes. Are we losing our sense of adventure? Or has frightening people too much become the order of the day? The way our world operates now is to deliberately scare us thereby restraining our choices and movement through our own terror of the situation, the unknown? What do you think?

I can imagine there might be people that don't give a rats ass about me, and will willingly do me harm out there, and I don't know where they are, who they are, or when they might strike. Yea, I am a bit frightened by that. But, I have absolutely no way of finding out about that type of threat, so I don't worry about it. I try to be careful with the situations I do have some control in. Hopefully I can navigate those situations with some skill and grace. :)

No. Stress and worry are really bad for the human body. Avoid those situations if possible. I've had it at times for understandable reasons like when a family member was dying or when alone in wilderness during the black of night with bears crunching twigs around my camp, but not for unknown reasons.

Absolutely not! Some American president (perhaps Franklin D. Roosevelt?) said "you have nothing to fear except fear itself." He was a very smart man. We could use another Franklin D. Roosevelt today!

If you fear the unknown, then you will be Hightened & aware of your surroundings.
Face them with courage. What other choice do you have? Sure shit your pants.
That's also not an act of cowardice. Its just the bowels letting go early. Of course, you
can add STANK to the story you share with your friends.

I'm uncertain what the OP is about, and I'm still replying, so there's that. I'm not afraid of every unknown.

As they say, the more you know, the more you realize how much you don't know. So there are more unknowns all the time.

In general, I think most people are wired to avoid huge uncertainty. It's how the species survived. But with technology, it's easier to think that we know more things.

People travel to new places, socialize with people they've never met and try out new technologies all the time. Sometimes I think people don't get enough credit for how much uncertainty we venture into every day just by showing up.
