Do You Feel awkward making small talk with a stranger?

funnily enough still on the subject of Leeds.. it still remains the most unfriendly place I've ever visited despite it being in the North...

I've got a whole long story to go with this but I'll save you it.. and just direct you to the scene in American Werewolf in London.. when the 2 guys walk into the pub in Yorkshire, and the whole crowded pub goes silent... ..that's exactly what happened to us.. and everything we asked the barman for... was met with a No..don't have it...:eek:
I can't believe what I'm about to say, but that's what happened with me!:eek: Wow, Leeds, what's up with that? Or them!

Do You Feel awkward making small talk with a stranger?

Awkward, never. But whether or not I'll engage in conversation with a stranger depends very much on the situation, the stranger, and my mood at the time. I'm not an obsessive talker but do often enjoy chatting with pleasant and interesting people.

I talk to people all the time when I am out. In the park, in the stores, on the street. This is a friendly place I live in and everyone speaks to you.

I'm the same, I'll talk to anyone...the only problem is, is that there's quite a difference between the north of the uk and the south. In the north people will talk to any strangers.. and that's how I grew up.. in the south where I live now, mostly they look at you as if you've escaped from an asylum if you start up a conversation. They are really buttoned up the back for the most part. I've never got used to that, and I still start a convo.. and then I see the look of ''arrrhhh escaped lunatic on the loose'' in their eyes, as they awkwardly reply and start slowing backing up.. and I stop talking..

Reminds me of the Mash report video ... ;)
