I was just thinking today... that despite so many fancy, pretty.. unusual, cheap , expensive phone cases there are on the market.. the fact that now everyone almost has a cellphone.. no-one pays any attention to anyone else's phone case... not that's is if you're older than 12.

I've had so many colours & styles over the years... I like to get cases which are protective.. not necessarily expensive.. but not the cheapest end of the market.

That said.. the one I have no is a protective case, with the bumper edge to protect the screen if dropped.. and it cost me pennies on Temu...same one on Amazon is about £12.. ( exact same)...

I've had red, blue, yellow..silicon, pink, hard shell..book style... you name it.. but this one is the one I've had now for about a year..

I had a couple of them over the years. Pretty basic looking though and nearly invisible to others, more protective than a typical dollycase.

Got a new phone maybe 2 years ago and didn't bother. I'm not carrying it up ladders or dancing jigs on concrete.

Sounds like another consumer exploiting racket to me.

still easily dropped tho', regardless of whether you're doing anything energetic.. a protective case is money well spent.. and as I say now you can get them for pennies as I did with mine

My case is just a generic cheap plastic case. The only reason I have it is for the grip. Apparently young folks aren’t using cases now. I’ve been searching for something 2” strip-like to go across the back so there’s texture when I pick it up.

Laughed when I was looking again today. Still haven’t found exactly what I want. "Putting your iPhone in a case is like buying an Audi, wrapping it in rubber and painting flames down the side of it. It's like going to a three-star Michelin restaurant and asking for ketchup”

When I was using phone cases they were two layers of rubbery plastic with thin spacers separating them. The idea was protection from knocks and drops. The stuff I see people using today looks like they slapped a piece of Contact Paper on the back.

All I had before was a flip phone. When I got my iPhone, duh, didn't even know you needed a case. So far my phone has slipped out of my pocket a bunch of times, and rattled over the floor, but it still works. Still don't have a case.
It seems to be a hardy little device. At the time I bought it, it was a just released 13, now it's an 'old' 13. I'm not sure I will renew the service contract.
What do you think?

Mine is an iPhone 12 Pro Max, which is practically obsolete in the cellphone status world. I’ll continue on with this ‘oldie’ for ages. I only use a cover to have a better grip. The less it weighs, the better. I don’t think anyone looks at anyone else’s phone model.

mine is also an Iphone 12 Pro Max.. we're only on 15 so there's a few years to go before it becomes old

I know nobody over the age of 12 notices the cases, but I sure like mine (I bought it off etsy.com):

Wow, looking at this pic, I can see it's getting kind of beaten up, oh well. :)
Nobody over 12 notices phone cases yet here’s a thread about it!😂 Haha. The irony. Lol
I have a waterproof phone case. It’s nothing fancy. It’s more practical than anything.

No fancy case here. My Samsung Tracfone came with a Cheapo rubberized plastic cover, and I throw the whole works into a protective nylon pouch thingee bought at Five Below for $5… 😸

My Samsung cell phone is a FREE replacement I got from Tracfone when they phased out 3G. I bought a protective case for it that was commensurate with the price of the phone. As the phone rarely used, that seems adequate.

What I don't understand is what makes a phone costing hundreds of dollars worth the price? My freebie seems to make and receive voice calls and texts just fine. Maybe it has something to do with using it as a camera or accessing the internet; neither of which I have any use for.
