Do you have a fancy Phone case ?

Nope. Just a plain, sturdy, hot pink one. I chose that color so it's easy to find in my bag. I've seen the blingy cases that I considered buying, because I love bling and glitter. But I never got one.

I still use a clam shell or flip phone. Am very happy with it. Rubber coated on the outside. Won't slip out of my hand. And, I carry it in a rifle clip pouch hooked to my belt. No one looks at it nor wants to steal it. I am pleased with it. Service is only $99.00 per year.

Do you have a fancy Phone case ?

No, just black, plain
Thick
Rubbery.....I think it would bounce back into my hand if I dropped it
My daughter has that type of Phone case..it's military grade, she can actually run it over with her Car and the phone won't be damaged... it cost a pretty penny, but she prefers the security of it to anything cheaper and fancier..

I bought a cute case that had a little attachment for a stylus-but the attachment fell off- that's ok -I got good deal at amazon last year for styluses and gave many of them to seniors.

When my daughter bought me a Kindle (over 10 years ago and it is works fine)the local librarian had to connect it to their wifi, and I was immediately able, on their PC to get my Kindle purchases onto the Kindle. She recommended that ,since I have slight carpel tunnel syndrome,to use a stylus with it and I find the styluses work well on my cell phone too.

The case my Kindle came in got worn out and the new cases were really overpriced- but I bought a leather case on Ebay and it didnt cost much at all.

I'm a big fan of leather cases for the kindle and for the Ipad.... they're kinda my little vice... :D

What I don't understand is what makes a phone costing hundreds of dollars worth the price? My freebie seems to make and receive voice calls and texts just fine. Maybe it has something to do with using it as a camera or accessing the internet; neither of which I have any use for.
I think that phone needs differ from person to person, just like vehicle needs do. Someone in the country might need a truck or 4x4, a person who travels might want a hybrid, etc.
As far as actually using my iPhone as a phone, I would probably do perfectly well with a small flip phone, just a basic thing that I can make a call when necessary.
I hardly ever use it to call people.

However, when my daughter got me an iPhone, I started using the health apps to track food, blood pressure, fitness, sleep, heart rate, blood oxygen, and lots of other things that were important for me to know , with my heart failure. In conjunction with my Apple Watch, I am able to track all of this information, and even take an EKG if I think my heart is acting weird. The phone will even send the info to my doctor if I want.
I feel good knowing that if I should be alone and fall or even pass out, my watch would alert the phone to call for emergency help, so I feel safer having this kind of phone.

With the friends/family app, my family always knows where all of us are at. And I totally LOVE having a camera with me all of the time ! It used to be that I only took along a camera when I expected to take pictures; so if something came up otherwise, I didn’t have the camera and missed the photo.
Now, the phone is right there in my little purse, in case I need it , or just want to take a picture. And it automatically syncs pictures into my iPads, so I have them on all of my devices.

If I go somewhere and have to sit and wait, my phone works perfectly for me to read a kindle book with, or if I need directions, it gives me that, too. There are just so many helpful things that the iPhone can do, aside from being a phone, and to me, it is worth having a smart phone.

I spend enough for a decent case of a nice colour and design. My budget tends to be up to £15.00. You are right, it is only me that really sees it or cares! So why spend a fortune?

Child Labor and the Human Rights Violations Embedded in Producing Technology — Columbia Undergraduate Law Review

Every new Apple release comes with a media blitz about the new iPhone’s improved camera quality, the speed of the M1 processor chip in the latest MacBooks, or the sound quality of the next generation AirPod Pros. An Apple product’s design interface is carefully curated—all with the goal of arousing a feeling of sleekness and fashion in the consumer. However, despite Apple’s futuristic facade, its labor model is backwards and deeply problematic. Indeed, Apple’s cobalt batteries are built on the backs of child labor in mines, causing severe physical harm to children and violating international standards of human rights.

Carbon Footprint of iPhone by Type (Footprint of Charging vs Making Phone)

The carbon footprint of iPhone forms part of the total global smartphone carbon footprint.

But did you know that up to 95% of emissions are produced during the production and manufacturing phases? It’s true.

It is estimated that the global carbon footprint of smartphone manufacturing is equal to the annual CO2 emissions of the entire country of the Philippines.

The funny part is that iPhone consumers are among the first to cluck their tongues at others over indulgence and injustice!

I cannot find a case big enough! Even if I did how would I keep it plugged in?

All my phones are permanently plugged into the wall...

I don't own a cell phone, never have and never will. I value my privacy too much to be tied to a pocket phone...

All I had before was a flip phone. When I got my iPhone, duh, didn't even know you needed a case. So far my phone has slipped out of my pocket a bunch of times, and rattled over the floor, but it still works. Still don't have a case.
It seems to be a hardy little device. At the time I bought it, it was a just released 13, now it's an 'old' 13. I'm not sure I will renew the service contract.
What do you think?
have it on PAYG ...if you don't want another contract

No, I don't have a fancy case. More's the pity. A few years ago I almost bought a decadent crystal encrusted case for $200. It was Christmas time and I briefly thought why not? The way things turned out for me, I'm glad I didn't.
:ROFLMAO:

My Samsung cell phone is a FREE replacement I got from Tracfone when they phased out 3G. I bought a protective case for it that was commensurate with the price of the phone. As the phone rarely used, that seems adequate.

yes that's the reason. With my phone I can take high quality photos..no need for my camera.. and access the internet just as well as I can on my full size MAC..and of course use it as phone, to make calls, text, whatsapp.. I can use it to pay for everything instead of carrying a. Debit or credit card... I can use it as a torch, also as a Compass.. my phone identifies music which is unknown to me by listening for 3 or 4 seconds . I have many word and puzzle games available to me, to pass a tedious time in a waiting room.. and so much more..

Off topic for jjust a second....nothing to do with phones.. but talking of decadent, chic... I just had my breath snatched from me when I saw a pair of flip flops online for $419...

what about your screen Lois ? all cases come with a screen protector
In my case, the phone spends 99.9 % of it's lifetime in my shirt pocket. Fell out a few times but the edge protector saved the day. Rare that anyone calls me and even rarer that I call someone else.

Think back - - - How often did you pull over and use a pay phone? Some of we old-timers actually survived for many years without phones glued to our ears. Amazing how we did (survive) now that you look back in time.
