Do you have a "security system"- cameras, etc.?

Those security cameras are pretty cheap now, and there's all kinds of electronic devices. Do you have a "security system"- cameras, etc.?

I thought about getting a camera, but I'd wind up with thousands of deer pics.

My whole family has them, even to tracking each other on the phones.
I don't feel the need myself. If I lived in a busier neighborhood it may be a thought.
One stray car no one knows comes in here driving slow and the phones start ringing, guess my cameras are my neighbors.

Not currently, but several apartments have ring doorbell cameras. Loved the alarm and monitoring system I had at my last house.

Yes, but they're hard wired, and aren't set up as they should be. They show all the exterior of the house and continually record, and from my desk, I can see anyone on the monitor long before they approach the house, but they don't transmit to my phone while I'm away. I don't know how that's done. Probably the man who installed them can do it, I just haven't looked into that. More money.

I don't personally, but there are cameras installed on the buildings in our complex. I don't have an alarm system either.

Yes I do..I have 2 Video ring door bells... and I have motion sensor security lights on every side of the house and on the Barn as well..

I've got very strong wire screen doors (CrimSafe) at front and back that I don't bother locking. They do keep the flies out though.

Everywhere ..have cameras throughout our apartment buildings, and also in the parking lots, and post office mail room.
…maybe in other places I don’t know about.

I have a couple of Eufy cameras that I bought when they were on special in Bunnings. There are no ongoing costs and I can view the cameras anytime as long as I have the Internet.

Normally they are off and only turned on when I am travelling. They can detect a person or movement but passing shadows fool them. My NAS also records the video as well as the mini SD card. Cheap and cheerful.

I am sure the Chinese servers find my lounge and middle room fascinating.

My old (early 60s) doorbell broke so my son bought me a Ring doorbell… it has a camera so I can see if anyone should happen to ring my bell, which rarely happens, but there’s no monthly fee being paid, so no recordings or anything of that nature. I feel very safe in my neighborhood. My house sits way back from the street, all the lots are min 1/2 acre, and people have all lived here for many years.

the image on the 2nd tv i have in liv room, no recording on it

I have a short string of sleigh bells on the door, do they count?

If cameras and alarms give you some peace of mind by all means you should have them but IMO those things don’t offer any real protection.

The complex, where I live, does have cameras.

A few weeks ago several teens went through the parking garage and broke windows in three cars within a matter of seconds.

They got some great pictures of kids with hoodies!

The police were called and they took a report.

So much for state of the art security!

My building has pretty decent security. Cameras, lights and buzzers. We don't even have keys anymore. It's all codes.
