Do you have an "at home" wardrobe?

This may apply more to the folks who aren't retired, not sure.

I'm not, and neither is Ron, so we both have our work clothes, and then our "at home" clothes. Both of which are separate from our "going out" clothes.

My work clothes are usually just workout wear because of the often physical nature of what I do. Sometimes, it might be jeans and a casual but professional top. If I'm helping a client with an event, it could be cocktail wear, upscale casual, or even black pants/white shirt, typical wear of the staff...just depending on what I'm called on to do.

If I'm dancing, I wear my dance stuff which doesn't really look much different than what I might wear to a party or to dinner, but it's cut differently so that it moves better and is easy to dance in.

None of that is what I wear at home. Usually when I get home from work, I just change into my PJ's, which more accurately would be called lounge wear...loose pants and top with either a bed jacket or wrap. When Ron gets home, he will shower and then change into jeans and a tee and/or sweater, and his slippers usually.

On the weekends if I'm not planning to go anywhere, I'll wear sweats, sometimes leggings, with an outsized tee shirt or sweater. If we need to work on the house or the grounds, I'll usually put on my overalls and rain boots or work boots depending on the weather. If I need to run errands I'll change into upscale jeans and a nice top. If we decide to go out to dinner I'll change out that top for something more dressy, and change my sneakers for boots, shoes or sandals, again depending on the weather.

What about you?

At home I wear my lounge wear which are nice enough to wear out if I desire. In summer I am in tees and shorts. Winter if Houston has one its the lounge wear. We usually do not have winter here which is nice. My daughter in Va. hates it as she wants snow!

I wear joggers and a loose jumper of some sort at home..immediately I get home I get changed into them.. and if I'm not going anywhere for the day I just put those casual clothes on after my shower and stay in them all day. I never wear pyjamas..

In summer at home it's usually a loose dress... or shorts and loose top....

In the winter, loose and comfortable, moccasins.
In the summer, loose and comfortable, sandals.
Anyone coming to our front door is probably not going to be impressed with my sense of style.

Nope. Each morning, except for shoes, I dress for the day. Errands, shopping, or not poking my nose out the front door - same wardrobe. Obviously if I'm going someplace special I'll dress up, but neither my husband nor I (nor our kids) wear sloppy clothes at home and more presentable clothing when we go out.

When it's warm I'm usually barefoot in the house, on cooler days I wear slippers.

I do not wear my street clothes in the house. As soon as I come home I change into loose fitting, comfortable dresses, skirts & tops, mostly dedicated for wear in the house. I do wear one of my skirts outside of the house but it must be freshly laundered before I wear it around the house. As a Muslim, we do not wear street shoes in the house, so I have comfortable slippers in several colors.

I am retired but I do have house clothes and as one of the other post stated, I can wear my house cloths out if I decided to run out to the store. I have a variety..staying in or going out. I have some cute pajamas but I rarely wear those around the house..every now and then. But mostly If I am not going anywhere, I wear my house clothes.

This is a touchy issue with me right now. My wife told me that I need to get rid of anything more than 3 years old. So, I asked her what about her things and she asked me ā€œLike what?ā€ I told her we should start with shoes. I counted 88 pairs of shoes. Are you kidding me? Who in the world besides maybe a movie star has 88 pairs of shoes.
