Do you have box of old photographs that you intend to put into an album?

I have this Cardboard box filled with photos from my past. You know, the 1,200 prints of that picnic no one can remember? I bought three photo albums to put the pics in, well, the first two pages in one album. I want to put captions-who everybody is, etc. Ya see, I've been busy................. Are you kind of worried, you may not know the older relatives any more? Do you have box of old photographs that you intend to put into an album?

I did that quite a long time ago. My problem is putting back photos removed to scan. I also moved from putting photos in albums, to storing them in photo boxes .. so much easier, but takes up more space.

I do all of my albums using my software. No more paying for pictures at Walmart or wherever. I have them all on flash drives, but I am still trying to figure a way to label a flash drive that stays on permanently.

I kept albums for years, then one day realized I hadn't looked at any of them in years, and since there's no one to pass them on to, what's the point? So I went through the lot, picked out 30 pictures that resonated with me strongly, put them in a shadow box along with some other memorabilia. The rest went the way of the dodo bird and the dinosaur.

I am working on that box right now: lots to trash, lots to be mailed out, many into albums, and many still in the box.
Mine go back to the early 1940's, and this has turned into a bigger project than I expected.
.... And who are some of these people anyway, and how did they get into my box?

I've always enjoyed looking at the old family photos.
My Grandma and Mom had them nicely labeled and in albums.
A couple of years before my Mom passed away we looked through them together and the few I didn't know I labeled.
Many I threw out. I really didn't need all those photos of zoo animals who have passed on back in the 20s and 30s.
My family loved scenery. I got rid of some of that also. Those old cameras didn't capture the views like they do today and where they were taken was a mystery.
I have some, then and now photos. Most of them make me sad, the areas certainly haven't improved over the years.

When my parents and older brother past we found so many pictures under my Mom's Bed....We kept most, but my Dad had so many army
friends we just had to get rid of them....Most of them have passed away....
I still have boxes and boxes under the bed in the 3rd bedroom...No one sleeps there anymore...My daughter will help me get some of the things
I don't need....And also many clothes to through away....or put in the Bins....Some people need clothing...
Yes, Ruth, looking at the photo's make me very sad....But I keep all of my family's photo's.....

I can honestly say I am a hoarder when it comes to pictures. I have so many plastic boxes filled with them. I love looking at them and remembering the past. Of course now I spend most of my time looking at the pictures of my grandchildren. Time passes too quickly. One minute they were babies and now they are
grown up.

I started on it a few years back and gave up, some pics I can't even remember where or why. I figure leave them in the box and let someone else deal with it.

Sounds like we are all guilty of taking pictures because we enjoy taking pictures. Ooooh, look, a flower. Click, click, click. Oh my a cute puppy! 8 clicks. :)

My eldest sister took our mother's old photos when she ran away at 16. Finally, my younger brother talked our nephew into getting her to allow him to scan them. My brother printed them all out on photo paper, and gave them to all the siblings. My sister continues to hold onto the originals.

I also uploaded them to PhotoBucket and put them on an external hard drive.

I went through mine when my son expressed an interest.

Tried very hard to date them, and address who was in them.

I did throw out a lot of them though. No interest to anyone but me, and I have the memories in my head anyway.
