Do you have to agree with an actors private life / personal views before you will watch their movies

Usually, I don't care about actors' private lives. But there are a few exceptions. One exception is Elliott Gould who was Barbara Streisand's first husband. I liked his movies until I saw him live on The Johnny Carson Show and he was either very intoxicated or very unintelligent. What a complete dork! I never watched him in a movie again. :playful:

Not for the most part but Woody Allen now freaks me out to the point I can't even watch any of his old movies.

Tom Cruise is a case for sure, but I can still watch Top Gun on TV for it's cute guy movie effectiveness.

I watch all actors & entertainers if I like and enjoy their performing skills and talent. I don't care about their politics, morals or life choices.

I try not to but find it difficult to be entertained by someone who is a known wife abuser etc..

I remember vaguely about an awards ceremony several years ago when an aged man who I think he was a producer was given a lifetime achievement award. He was a controversial man who had been involved in the Reds under the bed stuff many years before, I won't go into that here, I think you all know what I mean.

The audience applauded when he got the award but Nick Nolte made a big gesture of folding his hands and making a face. That was his right of course but it left me feeling something that affected what I watched with Nolte in. The man was very old and it seemed a bit too much for me

I do have course have to let that go
