Do you keep junk in your car?

Just last week I sold an eighteen year old SUV, the car was my daily driver for years then got switched to the beater category and I used it like a truck. The couple that bought it remarked how clean and nice the interior was and asked if I had it professionally detailed to sell. I hadn't. It was still nice simply because I never let it get trashed up, I always kept it free of clutter and when it got dirty I cleaned it.

Car, house, yard, barn, I treat all the same, keep it nice.

yep exactly the same as me and everyone I know.. which is whay I'm so stunned at some of these videos where the cops stop the driver.. and we get to see the filthy interiors of their cars..

I would not trust anything medical to survive the heat in a parked car.
Unless there are temperature restrictions even a good ol' saline IV is fine.
We got stuck in a traffic jam. Police, off duty police in vests, EMTs everywhere. We were ddirected by a very hectic young man. SO came to a full stop and asked what is going on. Get moving, a bad wreck. No ambulances or fire trucks in sight. He started yelling to get moving. SO motioned to me to move to his seat, grabbed the rescue bag and ran with it. Nurses and an MD were on site with no supplies. Ford Explorer, no seat belt, too fast, car flipped, driver flipped out of the car. She made it. I will take my risk when there are no options.

when my DD and her o/h had her doggie hotel business, she had several ''doggie vans'' to transport the doggie guests around in the big cages at the back ..but she always had her precious little chihuahua in the doggie seat in the back

I just realised in the picture people might think the incredibly tattoed body belongs to my daughter... it doesn't... that was her partner

I seldom drive with any passengers these days, so I do often leave a mini-swiffer on the passenger seat because a black interior shows dust so well. But I do have room to stick it into the console compartment.
my car also has a black interior.. I have 2 microfibre dusters , and a tiny extendable duster

I take garbage out every time I get home. Have never kept a messy car. However, last year I moved into an apartment with no outside storage so I do keep the dog car seat and the dog stroller in the car full time. I also keep a gallon jug of window washer in there.

yes I presumer you keep it in the boot ( trunk ) ?... what I was talking about with this thread was the inside of the car absolute junk .. even in the most expensive looking 4x4's... like this...

My car doesn’t have a trunk. It’s an SUV. I keep the stroller in the back seat and other stuff all the way in the back.

I have my owner's manual in the backseat on the floor and a sample piece of my home carpet on the seat. ☺️
I also keep change and lipstick in one of my cup holders.

What's in my car? Lemme think. Back seat: for TGS I have a car seat, some small toys, a full size blanket and a jacket. Under the front passenger seat is a large package of oyster crackers and a small container to put them in. Also a small bowl in case we have Ozzy-dog with us and he needs some some water. Oyster crackers keep TGS busy when if I take him into a grocery store and keep me from having to buy snacks every time.

In the far back of my SUV there are 3 laundry baskets lined up. 2 are empty for corraling purchases so I don't always have to bother with shopping bags. The third has two full changes of clothes (one for me, one for TGS), a couple of diapers, wipes and plastic bags, a sweater for me, an emergency gallon of water, and a few shopping totes.

Center console has phone charging cords, and a couple of ziplock bags - one has KN95 masks, the other contains a few granola bars and assorted hard candy. Small trash bag between the console and my seat. Glove box has gloves and vehicle manuals. Driver door pocket has spare sunglasses, spare reading glasses, a whistle, and a bag of assorted coins.

I've always had a lot of stuff in my car - not trash or junk - just "stuff." I remember Rhoda Morgenstern (from the Mary Tyler Moore Show) once remarking that she thinks of her car as a traveling purse. Totally understood that.

My car is neat, but not anywhere near as empty as when I drove it home. On the contrary, it contains many of the little things that make driving comfortable for me, including many items LAFD recommends people to carry in case they're caught away from home during an earthquake or other disaster.
