I don't mean in a derogatory sense in that you talk too much, but the actual sound of your own voice when you hear it on a recording ?

I hate my voice.. I have a mix of 2 accents which people tell me they can barely notice, Scottish & English ...but I can hear very clearly and to me ugly.. on recordings...

..so what about you, ?

I do like my voice; it's a blend of Mexican and Texan and am soft spoken (according to my husband and family). I send family members short blogs that I record and they enjoy them. In English! I am not fluent in Spanish.... even after taking 3 semesters of Spanish in high school.

It's OK.....I s'pose

I talk too low....not loud enough.....I've been told

Maybe it's because I come from a loud family
Learned to pretty much hate being around boisterous folks

Did a thing with some words awhile back;

wow!! you have the voice of a voice over artist.. deep and soft..with a ..very nice manly voice..

I sound very Welsh and I have a hard time believing it is me.But I was told by Iain Dale on LBC that he loved my accent and when in England people know I’m Welsh once I speak(I sound like everyone else in Wales).
I don’t like the sound of it and hundreds of kids were subjected to my voice when I was teaching..:)

I thought I'd learned to detect a Welsh accent from watching "Call the Midwife." If it sounds like Shelagh Turner it must be Welsh, I thought, but Laura Main who plays her is Scottish! What ever it is I love it. I expect I could listen to HollyDolly and Furryanimal all day.

After 50 years in Ohio, I still have my West Virginia twang and now I not only sound like a hillbilly I sound like an old hillbilly. I sing just like Granny Clampett.

well, Laura Main sounds a bit like me only because she's Scottish, but she's from the North of Scotland where I'm from the West , but I'm sure non Brits wouldn't be able to tell the difference :ROFLMAO:..plus I have 40 years of a Southern English dialect mixed into mine

I did radio work in college, and was a newscaster, announcer, and DJ.; I was told that I had a good voice for it, and was even Chief Announcer for my senior year. No career out of it, though; most radio personalities work on local stations, do everything, and make less money than a teacher.

I think that what you say and perhaps how much you say is more important than any accent. There’s a great old song by Clarence Carter called, “You Talk Too Much.”
